"Vreet... vreet..." The sound of the electric bell buzzing outside my room.
I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling for a few moments, trying to remember where I was. I quickly jumped out of bed and rushed to the wall mirror.
"Just a moment," I shouted at the door while adjusting my bathrobe.
I managed to smooth back my wavy black hair before finally opening the door.
A young woman in a white and black uniform with a white apron stood in front of me.
"Sorry for the interruption. It's your tea service, Ms. Rosa, as you requested," she said with a smile.
"Oh, thank you," I replied and moved the tray to the dining table.
"Enjoy your meal, Ms. Rosa." She flashed her smile again before disappearing behind the door.
I remembered that I had called for room service earlier. I had actually fallen asleep on my bed, and I was still in my bathrobe.
'Silly me,' my heart said.
I glanced at the clock. It was 5 o'clock in the afternoon.
"How long have I been sleeping?" I asked myself.
Suddenly, I remembered that I had not saved my PowerPoint slides—the last few modifications I made before dozing off.
I rushed to the worktable on the right side of the room. My screensaver was running on the laptop screen. I pressed a key, and the PowerPoint slides appeared just as I had left them. I quickly pressed Ctrl+S.
"Thank God!" I exclaimed with relief.
Then I headed to the dining table. There were a few slices of different types of cakes—Red Velvet Cake, Cheesecake, Blueberry Cream Cake, Banana Cake, and Oreo Chocolate Cake. It seemed like all of my favorite cakes were there.
"Such a lucky day," I said to myself happily.
I enjoyed my tea time that evening, watching the golden sunset.
It was 7 o'clock. I was wearing a plain royal blue Giordano T-shirt and Giordano black jeans.
"Ring... ring..." The sound of the telephone on my bedside table buzzing.
I jumped out of bed and managed to answer the phone on the third ring.
"Hello," I answered calmly.
I recognized the familiar male voice on the other end—it was the receptionist.
"Hi, Ms. Rosa. Your transport is ready and waiting at the main entrance," he said in a welcoming tone.
"Oh, thank you. I'll be there in a minute." I hung up the phone, rushed to the dining table, and grabbed my Bonia handbag. I peered inside the handbag to make sure the movie voucher and room key were there.
"Alright, it's movie time," I told myself.
I quickly grabbed my black cardigan from the wardrobe and headed towards the door. Before closing it, I took a quick glance at the room. I walked down the quiet, luxurious hallway, hearing the sound of each step as my Nike shoes hit the Persian carpet. I turned the corner and reached the elevator area. I pressed the 'G' button as soon as I stepped inside.
When I reached the ground floor, I saw a black Mercedes-Benz parked outside the main entrance. I stepped out of the elevator and walked to the main entrance. A young man in a black uniform greeted me with a smile.
"Enjoy your movie night, Ms. Rosa."
"Thank you," I replied.
I took a seat in the back passenger area of the Mercedes-Benz.
