Mending Two Broken Hearts ~~~~ Chloe's POV and Lucifer 's POV

Chloe's POV

It has been six months without Lucifer. It has been heart wrenching not having him around. Sure he is a bit annoying during cases but he made the job more interesting. I had developed so much feelings and stronger feelings after he revealed that he was truly the Devil. Honestly, I see a misunderstood angel who fell from grace and was given a tough job.

I intended to distracted myself with the work and all the cases. I have gotten phone calls from Linda, Maze, Dan, and even Eve once. They want me to take a break and give myself some time to think. If I think I would eventually be longing for Lucifer and I can't be longing for someone who won't be coming back. Lucifer has a job. He has to rein Hell to protect me. I should feel grateful but I want more. So much more.

"Hey Chloe." Linda comes up to Chloe's desk with Dan next to her.

"What are you doing here Linda?" I ask her and look at Linda. She should be at home with the baby.

"You need a break. If you don't listen Dan will request you to go on paid vacation due to work trauma and I can give him any paperwork to prove otherwise." Linda says as she walks close to Chloe.

~ IN HELL ~ (Lucifer's POV)

It feels like a millennium since I had left Chloe out on the balcony. She confessed she loves me and I had told her I loved her too. My heart aches for her so badly. I miss her so much it hurts. Hell needed me to take back the reign. Otherwise, Chloe would be in danger and I would be to blame. To outlet my anger and my pain I made punishments harsher and made my demons work twice as much. I refuse to let anyone get away from punishment and work.

"Hey Lucifer. " Cain comes up to me.

"Shouldn't you be tortured?" I say.

"Yes, but I have come to terms with what I had sinned for. I had a choice to leave but I saw you and observed you for a while. Why did you come back?" Cain said.

"To take back the throne and ensure all demons stay here in Hell." I say.

"Is Chloe okay? Did she grow old and die?" Cain teased.

"No. I had to leave. Before I hurt her with my negligent choices." I say with a heavy heart.

"I see. Well see ya Lucifer." Cain said. He walks away and stops in mid step.

"Wait you left her up there alone with no one to watch out for her? Especially around Eve?" Cain comes back to me, furious as hell.

"I had no choice. Do not make me punish you myself Sinner boy." I say while putting on my devil self. I have to demonstrate authority.

"How about this, you return to the surface and be with Chloe and I can be the King of Hell. You know damn well that I can rule down here." Cain said and he winks at me. With all things considered, he is more evil and very thorough with his job as assigning punishments. He can be the new King and I can be with Chloe.

"One demon escapes and you have to go back to being punished for an eternity." I say. He nods.

As soon as I get ready, Amenediel appears in front of me.

"Come with me Lucifer. It is about Chloe." He says. My blood boils. No one harms my Chloe.
