"listen to what people say in anger, they've been dying to tell you that"

Jisung thought he would get over it. Jisung thought wrong. every passing day, life seems to get just a little harder for Jisung. waking up in the morning was even hard because he'd look across the room hoping to see the familiar hair poking out of the sheets. but instead he just saw the bed empty and the sheets still pulled down from the last time Jaemin had slept there. Jisung hadn't had the courage to fix the bed.

it's only been about 2 weeks since more than half of the dream members graduated. Jisung had been preparing himself for awhile but turns out he didn't prepare himself enough. the absence of the members left Jisung in a daze. but especially one member leaving affected him the most; Jaemin, his roommate, his movie buddy, his midnight walk buddy, his best friend.

and what made it worse was that Jisung had a big fat crush on Jaemin. Jisung didn't know how someone couldn't have a crush on Jaemin. Jaemin was sweet, cute, helped anyone who needed it, and was overall a perfect person.

the first day the 4 boys were gone, Jisung and Chenle carried on as if nothing was different. as if the boys had just stayed in their room all day.

by the second day though, Jisung could feel the tension in the air. Jisung and Chenle literally just sat around all day since there was no schedule because it was just them 2 and they didn't know what the hell was going to happen.

every day since then, Jisung has felt a bit more down than the day before. he missed Jaemin's goodnight hugs and his sweet words before they fell asleep. Jisung missed Jaemin.

one night, Jisung was trying to sleep but he couldn't, as per usual, when he turned his head to the side to scan Jaemin's vacant bed. Jisung felt himself get out of his own bed and walk over to Jaemin's. he reached out to finally fix the sheets when he was hit with a wave of sadness. his eyes welled up with tears and the hand that had barely clung onto the sheets started to shake slightly. Jisung felt the ache in his chest and before he knew it he was on his knees sobbing, his hands covering his face.

Jisung didn't care how loud he was crying. he was devastated. he heard the door creek open and then he felt arms being wrapped around his body. Jisung selfishly wished they were Jaemin's.

Jisung leaned into Chenle's arms and cried louder.

"what's wrong, sungie?" Chenle asked softly. Jisung shook his head, he couldn't speak.

Chenle held Jisung tightly, giving him a kiss in his hair.

"does it have to do with Jaemin leaving?" Chenle asked, trying to figure out what was wrong so he could help him. Jisung nodded his head, a hand moving off of his face to grip at Jaemin's sheets again.

"you can sleep in his bed tonight. i don't think he will mind," Chenle said, thumbing some tears off Jisung's cheek.

Jisung nodded again, his cries beginning to lessen. he wobbled trying to stand up. Chenle put a hand around his waist to help him into Jisung's bed and under the covers. Jisung immediately snuggled under the blankets and inhaled the smell of Jaemin that still lingered on the pillow. Chenle rubbed Jisung's shoulder before saying a quiet "goodnight" before leaving the room. Jisung stopped crying, finding comfort in Jaemin's bed. it almost felt as though Jaemin was right next to him. Jisung was quick to fall asleep.

Jisung woke up in the middle of the night to continuous pings coming from his phone. he groaned and rolled over, rubbing his eyes of the dried tears. he picked up the phone, vaguely wishing it was Jaemin who was blowing it up. unfortunately, it was just the dreamie's group chat that he forgot to mute. he entered the chat and Jaemin wasn't even there.
