Right now it wasn't the party that Lydia was thinking about. She wasn't thinking about how Nathaniel had left her to go and ask Marinette to dance. All she could think about was Marinette and Adrien.
She had followed them, and she had caught them kiss. She would have got a video of it, but her phone was low battery, so instead she took a picture of it.
The kiss was all she could think about as she knocked on Chloe's door. Chloe opened the door, looking exhausted. "What is it?" She muttered. "I can't be at the party because I'm feeling so sick."
Lydia nodded in understanding. "I got something to show you."
Chloe groaned as she clutched her stomach. "Can it wait? I need some rest."
"Oh," Lydia smirked. "I guess you don't want to know what happened between Marinette and Adrien then. Fine, I'll just delete the photo and walk away-"
Chloe widened her eyes. "T-tell me! Show me! What have you got, Lydia? Is it good?!"
Lydia entered the room. She wasn't really sure if it was good news or bad news, but to Chloe, it would definitely mean bad news. She turned her phone on and went to the picture, showing it to Chloe.
Chloe's face instantly changed her sick face into a much more angrier face.
"I knew it! I knew Marinette was forcing herself on Adrien, and to think that I actually believed that she liked Nathaniel instead." She gasped. "Maybe she likes both."
Lydia looked from the picture to Chloe. "Chloe, Marinette didn't kiss Adrien. It was actually the other way around. He kissed her."
Chloe stomped her foot at Lydia's words. "I don't believe it!" She exclaimed. "Adrien wouldn't kiss a girl like her, and if he did, then he was probably playing her."
Lydia couldn't believe Chloe was saying that. It kinda made her feel sick at how Chloe was so desperate to find the way out of the real truth. "Admit it, Chloe. You know Adrien likes Marinette-"
"No, he doesn't! And he never will!" Chloe interrupted. She had expected Lydia to he on her side, but instead it was the other way around. She couldn't believe this. "Besides, Adrien is always flirting around. He was just fooling Marinette." She instantly tried to find a lie. There was no way she was going to believe that Adrien liked Marinette, except if she heard it come out of Adrien's mouth. Before Adrien had told her that he didn't like Marinette, anyway, so why would he change his mind suddenly?
"Adrien wouldn't just kiss any girl he met," Lydia said, folding her arms. "He likes Marinette!"
"SHUT UP!" Chloe had finally had it. She was so over Lydia not being on her side. They were supposed to work together, yet she believed that Adrien liked Marinette. "You don't know Adrien. You don't know anything about him. You don't go to the same school as us, so shut up! I know Adrien, and I know he doesn't like Marinette!"
Lydia couldn't believe that Chloe had yelled at her. She instantly balled her hands into fists and faced Chloe again. "Chloe, so you think Adrien likes you?"
Chloe stood silent, and Lydia continued.
"... Because if you think he does like you," Lydia smirked, "then you're being pathetic! If Adrien liked you, Chloe..." Lydia turned to the door and opened it. "... Then he would have kissed you instead of Marinette!" And she left the room, banging the door on the way out.
