Alex POV

I was raised with everything and I'm not being melodramatic either I literally mean EVERYTHING. It started off small with toys that I wanted as a kid, I saw the commercial on my TV, I said I wanted it and then we got into the car and got it. From there it moved on to clothes and shoes, anytime we went to the mall I was walking out with practically a new wardrobe. By the age of 10 I was getting a new phone every year and if I broke it they fixed it that day, hell they fixed it that hour. I got my first car at 16, brand new Cadillac and of course it was customized to my liking, all matte black. My parents paid for my tuition all through college and hooked me up with an apartment in the process so I wouldn't have to dorm or live at home. When I turned 22 I was handed a deed to a 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath house with a pool and a hot tub in one of the safest parts of the neighborhood. And plot twist it was practically the same story for my brother Travis. How did they do it after all these years for two kids you might ask?

Three words: Platinum Credit Cards.

Travis and I each have a copy of what we call the "Family Card" its for what we want when we can't afford it. We don't have to give a reason or even tell them what we bought because it doesn't have a limit attached to it, the money is infinite. Even though our parents bought us everything we wanted they also taught us everything we needed to know about the world. They taught us between right and wrong, let us learn from our mistakes while always being there to help us pick up the pieces and try to show us that we are as fortunate as they come.

In high school, I was captain of the soccer, indoor track and outdoor track teams. I was always the lead in a play or a musical and I was president of a couple school clubs. Back in Travis' high school days he was captain of the football and baseball teams as well as the president of his class. We both stuck up for what was right no matter who was involved and it morphed us into the most respected students in the entire school. There was a reputation that came with the Blake name and it was a pristine one.

Our lives were immaculate and we definitely took it for granted. At least I know I did because when life bashed me in the fucking face I lost everything and even though I was raised as a picture perfect child, right here in this moment as I crash down from my latest high it sure doesn't look or feel that way.
