LISA POV
I followed the light, that bright light. Suddenly it all became dark. I heard some voices but I couldn't understand what they were saying. I couldn't even recognize the voice. I walked closer to where the light was guiding me. I slowly opened my eyes. A girl was peacefully sleeping in a chair next to me. Everything hurt so bad, as if I was being hit by a car. My head was dizzy and my throat was burning. I tried to move my right arm, but it was placed in a cast. The girl, that I couldn't recognize, was holding my hand tightly. I tried to move carefully, not to wake her, but it was unsuccessful. She woke up. Lauren.
- OH MY GOD! - She exclaimed, touching my face, Tears were streaming down her face. I was confused. Where was Noah?. She touched a button that was placed in the wall at the top of my bed and a few seconds passed when a doctor and some nurses walked inside.
- Welcome back again - The doctor greeted me. Lauren was smiling like an idiot and I couldn't understand anything.
- What happened? - I asked but my voice was hoarse. A blonde nurse handed me a glass of water. I took a sip.
- You don't remember anything? - Lauren asked scared. I shook my head.
- Where's Noah? - I asked. Lauren looked at me confused.
- What are you talking about, Lisa? - She asked, more confused than ever. My heart stopped,
- Where's Noah?! - I yelled, or at least I tried. The doctor walked closer with something in his hand. It looked like a pen, but it was a lantern or something like that. He put the light in my eyes and started to move it. Lauren walked out, I guess she was calling the others.
- What date it is today? - The doctor suddenly asked me. I searched in every file in my brain, trying to remember. I was getting married, probably yesterday.
- August 7th, 2018 - I replied. The doctor nodded, touching the machines next to me. Lauren walked inside.
- They're coming - Lauren said, sitting in the chair next to me. I still had a thing in my nose, I guess it was helping me breathing better.
- What happened? Where's Noah? - I asked one more time, hoping that this time, somebody could answer me.
- Who's Noah, Lisa? What are you talking about? - Lauren asked me, concerned. My head was killing me.
- Are you in pain? - The doctor asked me. I nodded. He called a nurse to inject me something. After a few seconds, the pain was decreasing. - Do you remember anything? - The doctor asked me.
- No, what happened? - I asked on the verge of tears.
- You were involved in a car accident - Lauren informed me. I shook my head in confusion - You've been in a coma - Tears were falling down her cheeks
- How long? - I asked, shaking.
- Almost 2 months - She sighed. I felt a few tears fall - We almost lost you. - I instinctively touched my head. It was wrapped in something. My hair, my long and beautiful hair was gone. I touched my face, cleaning my tears.
- Where's noah? - I asked again, now in a desperately way. I was trying so hard to understand what was going on.
- I don't know what are you talking about! There's no Noah here - She exclaimed, getting annoyed by my insistence.
- What's todays date? - I suddenly asked.
- September 15th, 2014 - The doctor informed me. That couldn't be real, I was giving birth, I was supposed to get married. Somehow, it was hard to catch my breath and one of the machines started to beep really fast. - Hey, it's okay. We don't want to sedate you again. Just breathe, just relax. Everything's gonna be okay - The doctor assured me. I shook my head.
- I c.. can't - I cried out. The doctor motioned a nurse to inject me something. After a few seconds, everything went black.
**
I woke up. The headache was still there, but it wasn't that strong. I looked around. Mom and dad were talking outside with the doctor. Mom was crying. Christina was sitting in a chair, her eyes were glued to the phone's screen.
- Hey - She said, looking away from her phone. I smiled at her. - How are you feeling? - She asked me.
- Fine, I guess - I replied. She smiled at me again. - I don't... can you explain to me what happened? - I whispered. She sighed, nodding.
- We had a day off, so we spend the whole day in our house. We had been so busy that actually being in home, was so relaxing - She smiled - You were craving some donuts so badly, that it was actually annoying. So you took the keys and drove to the nearest dunkin donuts. You never got there. 15 minutes later somebody called us saying that you had a car accident - She narrated at the verge of tears. I nodded, trying to understand. - They told us that you were going to die, because you had hit your head very hard. There was almost no hope - She sobbed - They even suggested to disconnect you, from the vital support, because you weren't going to wake up. The next day, we told the fans, asking, begging for prayers. And apparently it worked. You started to get better. - She cried out.
- It's okay - I said rubbing her back. She sat down next to me, trying not to hurt me. I was still sore.
- I was broken, Lisa. I don't know what would have happened if you had died. - She said, looking at me. I felt the back of my eyes burning, I was holding back my tears so bad. Everything right now was so messed up. It was all a dream, I never met Noah, I never even met Luke. I never harmed myself, I never moved on. It was all a lie. It was all a dream.
