Episode 2: First Battle!

The Professor nodded. "Fine by me. If you will, I'd like you to follow me first though." He motioned for them to follow him, and he proceeded to walk out a door positioned behind him. The group quickly followed him, allowing their new Pokemon the freedom to walk as well. After walking down a hall full of doors the Professor ignored, they finally came to a stop at one. "Welcome to my labs training room." He said, opening the door casually to reveal a large stadium-like room, with battle lines drawn on what looked like hard packed dirt. "I believe you'll find it quite a nice room for a battle, no?" Nei gawked at the expansive room, awestruck at how big it was. Omi just laughed at him, clearly happy. His Absol padded around, sniffing lightly at the air and then letting out a soft Maaaw before coming back to Omi. Axew looked around, head flipping back and forth rapidly. Nei laughed at the bewildered state of his Axew before looking towards the professor. "So, Redwood, you want me and Omi to battle here?" he asked, and with a nod, the Professor answered. "Yes. I have sensors installed in the room that detects the power of a Pokemon. So, since I'd like to see just how much power your Pokemon can use in their current forms, please just use this room to battle." he nods before walking off to the side of the room to a small control panel. "Which one of you goes first and which one picks the arena?" he calls out, standing at the console, already typing in strings of commands and such. Nei speaks first. "Flip for it. Heads I go first, tails, you go first." he says, pulling out a small coin with the head of a Pichachu on one side, the tail of it on the other. He flips it, and the coin flys up into the air, spinning and twirling through the air before landing back in his open palm. "Heads! I go first!" Nei exclaims happily, before Oni smirks at him with a laugh. "You realize that means I pick the area settings? Because i want the dingiest, darkest cave there is." he says to Redwood, and he nods. As he types it in, Oni and Nei move towards their trainer spots as their Pokemon, Nei's Axew and Omi's Absol, get in position. As soon as their ready, the arena is plunged into darkness, with only fait light flowing in. Enough to see in front of your face as a human, but as Pokemon? I'm not certain Axew can see anything! Nei thought to himself. Axew, from what he could see, looked at ease in this situation. Wait... isn't Axew generally found in caves? he wonders, pulling out his Poke-Phone and searching up Axew quickly.
Axew (PokeNo. #610)
Axew is a Dragon type pokemon. Its pale grayish green body generally blends in well to the caves where it inhabits. For the Axews that live outside of caves, they mark trees with their tusks by gashing them. The tusk generally break, but constant regrowth works to make them stronger and sharper. They learn Dragon Rage at a young age, a strong attack for defending themselfs against attackers.
Oni messed up! Caves are natural habitats for dragon types! Nei thinks to himself happily, calling out into the dark. "Hey Onnniii, guess where Axews liveeee! Caves!" he grins. Now Oni will be scared of loosing his cover of the dark if he knows Axew can see well in caves. He quiets down after this. He starts to focus, listening for tell tell signs of something approaching. His father taught him that when your hiding, walk slow, breath quiet. But Oni didn't know to tell his Absol this. Then he heard it. The sound of paws on the ground. "Now, Awex! Dragon Rage! That direction!" he calls out, pointing in the direction of the sound. Axew nods, charging up a small ball of blue flame in his mouth before firing it off. A loud crash is heard, but not the sound of a Pokemon crying out. But Axew was staring at something, clearly able to see something there. "Again!" he calls out, and Awex repeats the attack, and the crash is hear again, but no crying out. Is it dodging or is Axew missing? Suddenly, he saw it. A dash of white fur at the edge of his view. It's dodging! I have to corner it... trap it. he looks around before looking to the roof. Stalagmites... Maybe... He gets a sudden idea, pointing at them. "Axew, Dragon Rage! Up there!" he yells out. Axew follows his ordrs, blasting a Dragon Rage at the roof. The stalagmites fall, and A cry is heard. Not one of pain, no, but one of being trapped. He heard Oni call out. "Absol! Get out of there!"
Understanding what Nei wanted, Axew let loose one more Dragon Rage, and to no ones surprise, Absol yelped out right after. As soon as he does, though, the lights flash back on, the arena deconstructing right in front of them. The Professor claps from the side of the. Room while Kira stands in awe at what just happened. But before anything else could be said, the wall erupted in an explosion. Everyone scampered back from it, fear replacing their joy. The fire parted and in walked a man in and a woman in strange suits. The man, who had black hair, wore a a skin tight black shirt, a white coat with neon blue streaks around the rim, and baggy gray pants. The woman, who had bright purple hair, wore similar clothes, except her shirt was a tube top, and her pants were skinny jeans. They both struck a ridiculous posse, what looked like a star, before going into some chant.
The man started with "stars, moons, planets..." The woman then followed up, and the rest of the chant goes similar. "Celestial giants for the taking!"
"Team Darkstar, here to claim."
"The universe is not yours but ours!"

Nei looked at his friends. "Team Darkstar?"
