"HA!!! I won!!! Beat that ChimChim!!!” I celebrated, having counted the points I had won in my game of Yahtzee.
I beat Jimin by at least 40 points, which I was actually pretty happy about. I usually never win board games. That’s why I preferred card games when the power went out.
“Yeah yeah, I let you win.” Jimin said, trying to keep his pride, but I knew that I won against him fair and square.
“Naaaah, I won. Demolished you, even. Just admit your defeat!” I said, getting up to go grab a drink of F/S (fav. soda) from the fridge.
“Alright, alright, you won. But that’s because you got lucky, Muffin.” He said, calling me by my nickname that he had given me years ago.
I stuck my tongue out at him before I took a sip of my drink, feeling the cold liquid run down my throat.
“So, you up for a game of Uno?” I asked, walking over to sit indian style on the floor beside Jimin where we had decided to play our game.
“What time is it?”
I looked at my watch, “It’s 12:34.”
“Aaaish, it’s that late already?” Jimin groaned, a yawn escaping him.
“Pfffft, is it your bedtime, ChimChim?” I say, making fun of Jimin. Afterall I am known very well for how long I can stay up, and how often I do it. I was practically nocturnal. “Does my baby need to go to sleep?” I pinched his cheeks.
“Ack, shut up. I’m not a baby!!! You’re the one who literally has nap time during the day because of how late you stay up.” Jimin said, slapping my hand away.
Oof. Well, I suppose staying up as late as I do wasn’t always the best thing to do.
“Ok then. ‘Night, ChimChim.”
“‘Night.” Jimin said, yawning before he stood up and walked to the guest room of my house.
I heard the door open and close before I flopped onto the floor. I couldn’t help but feel immediately bored as soon as Jimin went to bed. I grabbed my phone which was plugged into the wall beside me. It was at around 40%. Good enough, considering how the power went out a while ago. It should come back soon though. I plugged in my headphones and put them on my head as I entered the pin and went to where I kept all my music.
I scrolled down and clicked on a song which happened to be performed by my best bud who had just barely went to sleep.
Jimin and his friends were all part of this boy band. They weren't too big, but they are pretty popular at my school. Everybody listened to and supported their music. Especially me.
I’d do anything for those seven boys. They have been my friends since… forever. Jimin was my oldest friend, though. The two of us had been friends since we were babies, partly because our parents were so close.
My parents… travel a lot. They don’t really ever bring me along either. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my parents to the ends of the Earth, and they loved me too, but I couldn’t help but feel jealous about how they get to go everywhere and I don’t. Their excuse is usually always that if I left, I would miss out on too much school and fail my classes. As true as that may be, I still can’t see why they couldn’t just take me during the summer, when I don’t have school.
Well, I guess one of the advantages of them being gone is how I was able to have plenty of sleepovers with the boys and Jimin. My parents really didn’t mind me having sleepovers with 7 boys at a time, really. My parents trusted them, and they were really good guys. They wouldn’t ever do something to me that me, or my parents, wouldn’t approve of. It was basically like having seven brothers. We were all really close.
Speaking of which, I decided that I should have a sleepover next weekend with all the boys. It has been a while since I’ve played a game of “Ghosts in the Grave Yard” with them, and plus, my parents aren’t going to be back for about 3 weeks. They’ve gone to Rome for their studies.
I hummed along silently with Jimin’s song. And soon, after a while of hearing his sweet, angelic singing voice, I fell asleep.
On the floor no less.
I woke up to the smell of breakfast. I groaned as I rubbed my eyes, still trying to wake up. A blanket had been laid over me, and a pillow had somehow made its way under my head, but that still didn’t prevent my body from feeling sore. I couldn’t even remember how I ended up on the floor? Was I even ever in my bed in the first place? Geeze. This is why I hated mornings.
I sat up and popped my back, massaging my neck before walking over to the kitchen.
“Morning, Muffin.” Jimin greeted me, plating the breakfast he made for me.
“Aahhhhh. I was supposed to make breakfast.” I groaned as I walked over to Jimin, and poked him in the side.
“You make breakfast all the time. As much as I love your omelets, let me make you something this time!"
“Fiiiine, but it’d better be good.”
“It sure is! I made bacon!” Jimin said.
“Omigosh, you are amazing. Lemme have some of that.” I said, snatching one of the plates. I went to go sit down on the table, and immediately started eating.
“MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM BACON.” I moaned as I took another piece of bacon and stuffed it into my mouth before finally eating some eggs that were on the plate too.
“Glad you like it, Muffin” Jimin said as he sat down beside me.
“So what are you planning to do today?”
“Well, the boys and I were gonna rehearse our new song, and practice dancing for the winter battle of the bands coming up. Then after that I was just gonna sleep. You?”
“Eh, nothing much. Work on that one essay that I’ve been needing to hand in, and maybe a few things here and there. My weekends can get so boring.” I said before eating some toast.
“Oof. You need to get a life Muffin.”
“Don’t I know it. You’re already gonna be a singer and a dancer. What do you suggest I be?”
“Hmmm. How about our own personal fangirl when we get famous?”
I gave Jimin a look, “As much as I love you guys, I’m not gonna scream at you guys for a living.”
“Pssshhhh, we’ll pay you.”
“Pay me to get nose bleeds whenever I see your jibooty?”
Jimin let out a burst of laughter at that.
“I’d like to see that!” He teased, poking me in the forehead.
“AIISSHH. Don’t touch me in the moouuuurniiiingsssss….” I hissed, pulling away from Jimin before, being the clumsy person I am, almost falling out my chair.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” Jimin laughed, probably most likely at the face of panic I made when I caught myself.
“Know what, forget your ass. I’ll fangirl about about Yoongi’s instead!!!”
“OH PLEASE. You know that you love my ass the best.” Jimin said, “And does that mean you accept being our personal fangirl?”
“In your dreams. I’ll go and be a noodle test-taster instead.” I said before picking up my finished plate and putting it in the sink before going and slapping Jimin upside the head.
“Now if you don’t mind I’m gonna go tame my rat’s nest.” I said, making my way to the bathroom.
“What did I do to deserve you Muffin.” Jimin whispered, barely audible, but I was able to pick it up.
I rolled my eyes before going into the bathroom.
