Chapter One -Falling Asleep On A Stranger
Skye's POV
The rain lashed down on the plastic shelter of the train station above me. I shivered as the wind blew fiercely around me, sweeping my hair around into my face. I never had a god-damned bobble when I need one. The intercom crackled into life announcing the train I was supposed to be getting home had been delayed for another hour. Just my luck. I was soaked through to my skin and freezing my butt off waiting for a train that seemed like it would never come. I looked around the platform, it was empty other than a stray cat prowling for left overs and a guy sat alone tapping his foot in time to whatever music was playing through his headphones a few benches down from me. He looked up and caught me staring, flashed me a dazzling smile and went back to his foot tapping. Wow, that guy was cute. His teeth were so white and shiny I could have made out each and every one even in the darkness of the night. I continued to squint through the dim train stations lighting to further study him. He was wearing a grey beanie hat with spikes of dark hair poking out from the front and sides, a black hoodie with some writing I couldn't quite make out on and black skinny jeans. He had a bag slung over his right shoulder and what looked like a guitar or bass case propped up against the bench next to him. Once again he looked up, catching me staring. He smiled again, I looked closer at his face this time, he had dimples and brown eyes that you could get lost in. I blushed and averted my gaze once more. Jesus maybe this wait wasn't going to be so bad after all, I had me some serious eye candy to stare at. I secretly hoped he was waiting for my train so I could just look at him more. He really was a fine specimen. When I lifted my eyes off the floor to look once more I noticed he'd moved two benches closer to mine, now only a few yards separated us.
"Is that seat taken?" He asked nodding to the space next to me. Holy moly he wanted to sit by me? This beautiful man wants to sit next to me? I felt myself blush,
"Nope, be my guest." I smiled at him and he smiled back, those cute dimples making an appearance once more. "I'm Skye by the way"
"Skye," he seemed to consider it for a moment, "that's a very pretty name, I'm Jaime" He held out and I took it, shaking it lightly.
"Nice to meet you Jaime." I grinned. We sat there for a minute, neither of us removing our hands from the others grasp.
The intercom rang out across the station once more, seeming louder than it had the time before, making me jump and pull my hand quickly away from Jaime's.
"The 11:05pm train to London will be pulling into the station shortly, please remain behind the yellow line until the train is at a complete stand-still. Sorry for the delay" And with that there was silence once more.
"Is this your train?" He asked, turning to face me.
"It sure is, what about you?"
I crossed my fingers behind my back, please let this be his train too, please let this be his train too.
A look of relief and joy spread across his face,
"Yeah it is. What's a pretty girl like you doing getting a train to London on your own at this time of night anyway, if you don't mind me asking?"
"I'm on my way home, I came to visit some friends and we must have got carried away in our conversation. I'm a big girl, I can handle it" I giggled.
I stood up and walked up to the yellow line situated a few yards from the track and peered around the corner just as the train appeared in the distance. When I turned back Jaime had also stood and was standing just behind me, case in hand.
"What do you play?" I asked, gesturing to the case.
"Bass. This one's new, I came to collect it today and now I'm on my way home." He was smiling at me again. Oh my that smile. It could melt even the coldest of hearts.
