Chapter 1 First Day

Katniss POV

It's my first day of my junior year of high school at Panem High.  It starts like any day, me waking up and instantly regretting it. After about thirty minutes, I finally decide to actual get up.  It's around six in the morning, and I dramatically yell 'why' for emphasis of not wanting to go to school.  Also, a great way to wake Prim when not necessary. I get into the shower to start getting ready, too much goes into this to break it down.  I finally finish and I'm wearing a mid-thigh turquoise skirt, a lacey black top, and some cute cream colored flats.  Take a quick, by quick I mean a good ten minutes, outfit of the day picture(s). I was forced to dress up by my friends, just to be clear I don't really care about my appearance.  Don't give into negative peer pressure, children.  Do not follow my terrible example.

I go to wake up Prim, apparently she is deaf and didn't wake when I yelled.  Darn. Once she finishes getting ready and she looks adorable, we eat a quick breakfast of oatmeal which our lovely mother prepared for us.  Heading to the car, I contemplate whether to go back and change.  "It's too late, Kat" Prim claims noticing my hesitant behavior.  I drop off Prim at the middle school after a serious car jam session, very important! I head towards the high school, dread consuming my entire being as I approach.  Which is only a few blocks away, so dread travels quickly.  When I get there I walk towards my friends like a normal person.  Not like Devin!

"Hey Kat,"  my friends greet me.  I casually ask, "Hey gals, how's it going?" "Pretty good.  Except there is some new boys in school and I'm going crazy wondering if they're hot." Responds boy crazed, Glimmer.  I was surprised that there are new students, our school rarely gets any new students.  Though what I'm not surprised about is Glim's slight obession with them.

Anyway, all of my friends are as the following: Annie, a sweet friendly girl, but she can be fiesty.  Don't get on her bad side, she can be a nightmare.   She has red curly hair and is wearing a nice green blouse and light wash jeans, she has applied her makeup 'natural'.  Then there's Glimmer she is quite a diva, but she's a really nice friend and will stand up for you.  Today she is wearing a white blouse and pink skirt, she has her long blonde hair curled, and pink themed make up.  Glim is quite fashionable,  if you ask her.

There's Johanna she has on black skinny jeans with combat boots a plain purple shirt and only black eyeliner and mascara, she has her hair straightened.  She is a badass girl who will stay with you to the very end and it's best if you stay on her good side.  Then Clove, she has a blue skirt that stops at mid thigh with a silvery color blouse, her makeup is natural, her black hair is in its natural state, wavy.  She is a loyal friend who could get a bit impatient at times, but is getting better at controlling her temper.

I, for once, don't feel underdressed, but somewhat overdressed when a girl passes by me wearing sweats.  As I envy her wardrobe choice as she walks by chaos begins.  As we were having a conversation, girls suddenly start screaming like they saw Justin Bieber or One Direction or MCR.  There is a mob of girls around us.   Then I spot the new boys, understand the girls and let them proceed.  I have to admit they are good looking, but I'm not looking for a relationship or hook ups, there are people who would think like that, such as Devin.  I've warned you Devin!  Even though I probably won't talk to them.  Can't say the same for my friends.

We all almost got tackled, but Glim being Glim didn't fall because she didn't want to ruin her outfit.  Not blaming her, it's fabulous.  Let's just say she almost killed someone and by someone I mean Drew.  Drew is the most annoying, slutty bitch, in my opinion,  in the world.  Not to mention the voice.  Again, in my opinion.  People were filming the interaction.

It went a little like this.  " Move, bitch!" "You almost ruined my clothes!" You may imagine the rest or search for videos.  There are probably some floating out in the internet.
