Chapter 17- The Doctors connection

Zailee's birthday is coming up so I decided to surprise her. I booked a flight to London, well actually I booked 4. She is going to be in tears. I then booked a tour at the BBC studio and a 4 tickets to the Doctor Who symphony. To end the trip I then booked a flight to San Francisco for Comic-con. I told Ed. I had to keep it from Zailee for a day so I wasn't too bad.

That morning I got Zailee and everyone else up early so we could go to the airport. She slept in the car and didn't pay much attention at the airport. We got on the plane and she slept again. We arrived at London airport at 11 o'clock and it was then she realised we weren't at home. We went to our 5 star hotel and I could already tell by zailee's face that it was completely worth pretty much everything Ed had put into it. As soon as I told him about my plan he insisted on paying for everything. That's why at the BBC studio we are able to watch a filming of an episode and also why at comic-con we can go backstage and meet the stars of Doctor Who. Even I am excited. Zailee wasn't when I woke her up so early on her birthday but I knew she would appreciate it.

We went to the BBC studios and Zailee was just screaming and crying and hugging me so tight. "This is the best birthday EVER! Thanks mum. I love you". I had never seen her so happy. It nearly made me cry. Katy was enjoying herself too. I think she was just really appreciative that I invited her to this family holiday. Outside we had a limo waiting and we drove to the theatre. Zailee listened with complete amazement and she sat just with her mouth open. Tears of utter joy were streaming down her face. She looked at me and I knew how much this meant to her.

Finally we got on the plane and went to San Francisco to Comic-con. She walked in slowly and looked at everything. People in all sorts of costumes walked by and she started to giggle. She thought the real Darth Vader and his storm-troopers were walking by. She went up to them and shook their hands. They looked at me and I pulled her away. "Honey they are not the real characters. At Comic-con people dress up as their favourite characters. So if you see the Doctor it's not him ok?. She nods. We go to the Doctor Who signing and Ed pulls out a doona for Peter Capaldi to sign. Then he hands it to Zailee. She beams. "Happy birthday Zails". I think she broke Ed's ribcage.

We head to the airport. Zailee sleeps the entire way back cuddling her signed doona. The last couple of days have been exhausting. We arrive at home and I tuck her in. "Thanks mum", she mumbles sleepily. Seeing her so happy just makes me happy too. She's my little angel after all.
