Chapter 6

"What are you talking about?" Jeremy asked curiously as he tilted his head.

Before Sophia or Y/n could explain, Chosen answered.

"About the session between Wyatt and Y/n as she prepared for the duel." He said without glancing up at the cinnamon roll.

Sophia nodded and looked at Y/n with a smirk.

Y/n sighed.

"Is it really that obvious?"

Chosen, Sophia and Jeremy all looked at each other.

Y/n sighed and cross her arms. C/n plopped on her lap and began to purr. Y/n uncrossed her arms and began to pet the cat and started to think about how it began.

"We met in his room..." Y/n began.

Y/n waited by the door with a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle, without any keyhole or doorknob.

She could see Wyatt running up the spiral staircase, when he looked into see her watching, he slowed down to a fast walk.

Y/n chuckled at his eagerness and waved.

"Hey, how are you?"

"Great, just finished Defense against the Dark Arts... you?"

"Oooooo~ I actually finished with Charms."

Wyatt then used the knocker.

"This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down."

A voice responded to the knock.

Y/n started blankly at the knocker then slowly looked at Wyatt.

"That was fucking depressing."

Wyatt smiled and looked back at her.

"What do you think it is?"

"What?"

Wyatt rolled his eyes.

"It's a riddle, you have to answer it to get in."

"A riddle? Huh... we use passwords... what if you get the riddle wrong?"

"Then we would have to wait for Chosen to come."

"All right... let me think a bit." Y/n said as she began to tap her foot.

She stared down at the ground, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Time?"

The door swung open.

Y/n began to jump up and down a clap excitedly.

Wyatt chuckled and led her to the common room and straight to his room.

The room was empty.

"During our break today I was able to get a spell book from the library. I found a couple that I thought would be good." Wyatt began to explain as he grabbed the book.

"Awesome!" Y/n cheered as she plopped on his bed.

Wyatt handed her the book and in the book was a piece of paper with a list of spells.

Y/n quickly began to cross out a few spells.

"Which ones are you crossing out?"

"I don't want anything to do with fire, it could end badly." Y/n explained.
