Raph's Fight

Raph's Pov

My grip tightened on my sais as we snuck inta Shredda's lair. It had been a few months since we 'died', and we decided ta take him down.

It was now or never.

"Raph, stay focused. I know you want revenge, but we have to wait for the girls' signal." Leo's voice whispered in my headset.

I growled. "And who decided ta put tha girls as bait?"

"By Chaos!" Skyla's voice rang loudly.

I charged in. If Shredda harmed Sky...

"Skyla, my dear. It's been too long." Shredda's voice.

I froze at tha sight. Sky was huggin' a yella hedgehog with amba eyes. Then, Shred-head's voice came from his lips. "I missed you."

"Dad... I thought you had died!"

I growled. "Well, he neva dies as Shredda. Don't surprise me."

Shred-head snarled. "You!"

I lunged, but Star and Amba held me back. Skyla placed herself in front of tha Foot masta. "Hamato Raphael, stop this madness! He is my father, for Chaos' sake!"

I freed myself from Star and Amba. "Yeah?!?! He tried ta kill mine six times!!! Ya don't know him, Sky! He's turned ta tha dark! He'll attack ya when ya least expect it! He's ordered tha deaths of thousands!"

"Are you saying, Raph, that he can't go back to being good?" Skyla's voice was deathly quiet, eyes smoldering with the seven levels of Hell itself.

"That's exactly what I'm sayin'. He's killed too many innocent. He's a criminal. He-"

Skyla stormed over and punched my beak. "He protected me from my psycho mother! He risked his life to save mine! If you say that he can't change and join us, then I'm leaving!"

"Fine! Don't come cryin' and crawlin' back ta me when he doesn't change! Ya think he can change? Prove it! I can't believe I let myself fall for a hedgehog like ya! Yer more of a jerk than most human girls!" As soon as I said it, I wanted ta take it back.

She took a step back, tears in her eyes and a heartbroken expression on her face. "Very well. I will prove it. Thanks for the wake-up call. Goodbye, Hamato Raphael." Grasping her fatha's hand, she shouted. "Chaos Control!"

She vanished to who knows where.

Anger spent, I dropped to my knees in sadness. 'Aw, shell. I lost her. She probably hates... No. She does hate me.'

A hand made itself known on my shoulda. "Raph..."

I jerked away and stood. "No. I don't wanna hear it." I sped through tha lair and into tha city.

'Thanks for the wake-up call.' Sky's words penetrated my shell and broke my heart. I had let her down.

I lost Skyla the Hedgehog.

My closest friend.

My only love.
