I slowly walked back to my car with puffy red eyes, traumatized. The fruit basket was still hanging from my right hand. I breathed heavily through sobs after sobs. I can't seem to get the image of them and their conversation off my head.

I witnessed my fiancé giving that Leigh a passionate kiss. After which, my tears gushed out without me having to hold back anymore.

"Since you've done your part, all that's left is for me to fake my own death and we can finally be together." Damian said.

"If your Father didn't want me killed, I wouldn't have brought it this far. I wouldn't have brought rebels to your Kingdom. I could've just silently left the palace and waited for you to come for me." She said with an evil grin which I could see from beneath the moonlight.

"By the way, how's that Princess Audrey? Did she buy it?" Leigh asked.

It took a while for Damian to speak.

"Yeah, she thinks I like her now." Damian answered.

"Huh! Please." Leigh chuckled arrogantly which made me tighten my fists to a point where my nails dug into my own palms. The burning blood running through my veins was hot enough to cook through my skin.

Leigh was responsible for everything: the disaster in Quince, the threats, and even her own death. She was a perfect example of a book I immediately judged through her perfect cover.

What's worse is that Damian knows of her plans and wasn't doing anything about it. He even supported it.

Maybe even made it.

He would fake his death before our wedding and run away with that stupid White.

As I reached the gate, I left the fruit basket to the guards claiming that I didn't find the prince. I tried my best to appear normal.

I wonder how that maid sneaked in through all this security.

"Your Highness, are you alright?" Riley asked as he openedthe car door for me.

"Yes." I softly replied as I hopped in and shut the door myself. I activated the separator between the front and the back of the car so that I can cry in peace.I quickly called Levi to seek some ventilation.

"Hello? Levi?" I said in between heavy breaths while still sobbing.

"Your Highness! Umm, Levi's not here right now. He left his phone in our room. This is Gordon. Is there something wrong?" Gordon's sleepy but awoken voice answered.

"Is he with Elise?" I asked.

"Um, yes, your Highness." Gordon answered softly.

"Oh never mind, thank you."

That night, I cried myself to sleep but I barely even had any. The next day was a Sunday. I decided to request Ivy to prepare me a luxurious and relaxing bath. I stayed in the there for almost three hours finishing beyond halfway through my book.

I told Ivy that I wasn't feeling so well and to bring some breakfast and lunch in for me. I told her not to allow anyone to come. I stayed in my robes for the rest of the morning. I didn't have the guts to show my face to my family. My eyes were really swollen and my face was still red.

"Audrey?" Levi called out as he knocked right after lunch.

"What?" I answered quite pissed.

"Aren't you supposed to be off-duty? Go spend time with your family or whoever." I continued.

I can hear him repeatedly twisting the locked knob of my white wooden door. I never usually locked my door since before.

Until now.
