Stars in the snow [NaLu]

  "Moma?" young Lucy asked her mom Layla. "What is the truly magical moment you keep on telling me about?"

  Layla smiled. "Would you mind if I tell you the story again?"

  Lucy shook her head, so her mom started narrating the story. 

  "It was a really snowy winter, and only two people were outside in the harsh weather. Well, one was a celestial wizard and the other was the fire dragon king in his human form. They happened to walk past each other in a park where a big tree covered in snow was planted. They stared at each other, wondering why they were outside on a day like that. Suddenly, a strong and cold wind passed them, carrying and ruffling their clothes and hair. The celestial mage's long, golden hair was swept to her face, and as she swept it back, the dragon king noticed that she was shivering. He instinctively reached out and embraced her shaking shoulders. And then stars started falling with the snow."

  "What did that mean, moma?" Lucy asked, tilting her head.

  "It was the moment they were connected," Layla answered. "It made them realize how special each other were."

  "That's the most romantic story I've ever heard," Erza sighed contently.

  "Definitely! The dragon king was really thoughtful!" piped up Wendy.

  "Can't deny that," Gray commented as they all laughed. All except for Natsu, who was unnaturally quiet, and also apparently thinking.

  "Natsu's thinking! Run everyone! It's the end of the world!" Happy shouted, holding his head while pointing at Natsu.

  "Don't be ridiculous, Tom-cat!" Carla scoffed.

  Lucy sighed exasperatedly. "Stop that! It doesn't mean that it's the end of the world just because Natsu's --"

  "It's not Igneel, it's not teacher Anna, so who were those people?" Natsu interrupted. "I don't know any of the former Fire Dragon kings, and I'm sure that I don't know any Celestial mages other than teacher Anna and Lucy who owned all or most of the Zodiac keys--"

  "What...?" Erza's jaw literally dropped, and the others were simply speechless, especially Lucy.

  "I'm trying to find out who the people from Lucy's story are," Natsu said, and continued muttering under his breath. Then something lit up in Lucy's head.

  "It's gonna happen tonight!" she blurted out, surprised at her own outburst. 

  "The current Fire Dragon King and strongest Celestial mage," she and Natsu whispered together. "It's going to be for them."

  "Why are we here, Natsu?" Lucy asked the dragon slayer, staring at the huge tree covered with snow, weirdly glowing red and gold.

  "This is where it's going to happen," he replied. "This is where is originally happened, and I found out that the current Fire Dragon king and the strongest Celestial mage--"

  "Are us," Lucy's eyes widened. Natsu smiled down at her and put their foreheads together. Then stars started falling with the snow.

  "I didn't have to wait for this moment to know that I love ya, Luce," and he bent down to kiss her on the lips. 

  

                                 "But this is still the truly magical moment in my whole life."
