Her Redemption for His Sins (Under Heavy Editing)

Cassie never backed down from a challenge and she was always true to her word. That was why, when Leena saw her walking along the path to her apartment while attempting to juggle a large tote bag, a suitcase, and a pair of killer heels, she rushed over to her side hastily.

"Give me something before you hurt yourself!" Leena announced as she tried to grab something out of Cassie's freshly manicured grasp. Cassie refused to budge as she gave Leena a disgruntled expression. Cassie gasped as the assortment of commodities plummeted to the ground with a loud thud.

"Shoot. I'm such a mess." Cassie stated as she looked down at the pile of crap with a look of hatred. Leena wondered what the woman needed to carry that fit in all the bags but didn't dare ask.

"I offered my help." Leena stated as Cassie refused to meet her gaze before she started gathering the items off the ground. Leena knew that look of determination in Cassie's eye and knew there was nothing she could do to stop her friend from this task.

"I'm not letting my pregnant friend carry these heavy boxes.", Cassie mumbled as she trudged forward another few steps. Leena nearly howled with laughter as Cassie dropped everything again all over the road. Leena was grateful to her best friend, but this was over the top even for Cassie.

"I say crap. I'll carry the light things. You look ridiculous. Plus, my crazy neighbor looks like she's heading this way right now." Leena stated as she helped Cassie steady herself. Cassie and Leena turned to see the nut job from 201B in the distance with her walker turned in their direction. 

"Fine, take the goddamned heels. I refuse to speak with that wild woman." Cassie stated as she handed the heels to Leena while planning the quickest escape route. Leena grabbed something else light from her friend before turning to go to her tiny apartment. Leena knew that Cassie couldn't stand the old bat and would do anything to get away from her. She kept her grinning to a minimum as they both took the path to her house just a little bit quicker.

All those months Leena spent away from home trying to heal, and this was what had been missing all along. The two of them got to the front door before Cassie stopped what she was doing to double over with laughter. They had entered the apartment giggling like fiends at having escaped the crazy nutcase for another day.

When they finally settled down from laughing, Cassie turned to Leena with a wide smile on her face.

"I know I was just gone, But I missed you so much and I was worried about you!" Cassie stated as she opened her arms wide to pull Leena into a tight hug. Leena poured all her love into hugging Cassie back as the sadness in her heart lessened. Leena pulled away from her best friend and tried to hide the tears in her eyes.

"You're crying, it's the hormones, but still. I love you too babe.", Cassie proclaimed boisterously as she nudged Leena playfully in the arm. Leena cast slitted eyes towards her best friend before looking at the various items in her friend's possession.

"Did you bring your entire room with you?" Leena asked as she wondered what hidden gems would be hidden in Cassie's belongings. Cassie didn't pay her any mind as she unfolded a gorgeous dress from the bag that would have made men faint.

"You know I did. I'm so excited you are letting me do this... I've missed our special private time!" Cassie confessed as she pulled out various makeup kits and several pairs of underwear. Leena eyed her friend suspiciously because she knew that Cassie went overboard with her setup.

"I'm going to stay on this couch forever and then we can skip the entire event" Leena sighed while propping her butt on the couch near the dragon incense burner. Leena lit some sage before praying for a peaceful evening.
