Chapter 19

Beatrice

The next day, to my surprise, I wake up early and for that reason I decide to go jogging for a bit of leisure. I dress my training clothes and before leaving the house, I eat a cheese sandwich, I give the good morning to lady Mary, who, like me, is surprised that I'm already awake, and I leave. I decide to run by the sea so I catch the bus and after a while I arrive to my destiny, put the earphones in my ears and start my run. Catching that cool morning breeze, listening to music and running is doing me so well. I was running quietly when I suddenly saw him, David. Will I always go and find him? He is doing some exercises and I confess that seeing his great physical appearance I get a little warm. He's in great physical shape, it's impossible to deny it. I decide to keep running, instead of standing there looking at him, and I  pretend that I did not see him. After a while I arrive at the end of the track and decide to go back.I stop a little to drink water and I was so distracted that I end up going against a man. I apologize, he lifts his head and I see that it's him David. I try to run away from him and now I go against him. He says:

-Beatrice? I was not expecting to find you here. And you do not have to apologize, I was distracted too, here on my cell phone.

-So the fault was the two of us. I was not expecting to see you here either. 

-And what are you doing here?

-Clearly I came to run, after all I'm in running clothes and I'm all sweaty.

-Of course, sorry. Apparently we have at least two things in common, we like to run and we like to do it by the sea.

-True... Well I have to go, if I don't go soon I will lot  the bus and then I will have to wait until the other arrives because it's the weekend. So goodbye and good workout continuation.

-Wait. I'm leaving too, if you want, I can take you home.

-You don't have to do that, but I thank you anyway.

I even wanted to go with him but I refused because I should not do it, we are a student and a teacher, we should not do that. Besides, I was not going to risk getting to the place where he had left the car and then seeing that he had come from the motorcycle and having to live again what I lived that night in which he took me home.

-Are you sure? I can do that.

-Yes, I have.

-Well, I'll be going now. Goodbye and see you on Monday.

I go away and then I get the bus back home. When I get home, I took a shower and then I prepare lunch for me and for lady Mary. I decide to prepare a pasta with a béchamel sauce, because I have always loved Italian food and lady Mary also likes it because it reminds her of her trip to Italy when she was younger. As soon as I finish lunch, I call lady Mary who is happy when she sees what I did for lunch. We started having lunch and she asked me about my birthday dinner over lunch.After lunch, I help her clean the kitchen and then I go to my room to read a book, a romantic book because I love read this kind of books, I always liked it and I always will like. I lose track of time and when it comes to me it's almost dinner time and I'm about to finish reading the book. I resolved to stop and go to help lady Mary with dinner. For the rest of the weekend, I stay home, studying and watching Netflix. Monday arrives and I agreed to go and have breakfast with Caroline and she decides to pick me up by car so I'm not going on subway to my school, today. We decided to go and have breakfast at the cafe next to the college. I order a croissant with butter and a glass of milk, Caroline orders a toast and a coffee and we sat in the usual place. I resolve to ask:

-How was the rest of the night of my birthday?

-It was good, me and the other girls went to a disco and let's just say I had a really nice evening.

-I can already imagine. When are you gonna stop with that?

-Sincerely, I do not know. But for now I'm not going to stop. You know I'm not that typical girl who's waiting to get her boyfriend, her "Prince Charming". I want to enjoy life.

-But you can take advantage of it another way.

-This for now is the way that makes me have fun. It's not worth talking about because you know how I am.

-Someday you will fall in love. 

-This day is far. But now let's talk about what happened at your birthday dinner.

I already expected her to touch on this subject, I even wondered how long it took, but I decided to make me misunderstood and I say:

-What are you talking about? It was a normal dinner and I loved the dinner.

But to make it clear I'm talking about the fact that you were very happy when you received the congratulations from David's teacher. And you were also jealous when you saw the woman approaching him.

-Well, first of all I was happy because I do not have many people to wish me the congratulations and secondly I did not get jealous.

-Are you sure? It's just that it seemed to me that when he said it was his sister you even breathed a sigh of relief.

I do not say anything because the truth is that she is right and then we go to class. We are not late, fortunately, because I do not like being late and when we get to the room David looks at me but quickly looks away.

The day is passing, I decide to stay in the college library for a bit to study and then I go home. When I get home and I strange the fact that lady Mary is not in the living room because she is usually in there at this time to see a program. I call for her but no one answers, so I decide to go and see if she left a message at the usual place, which is the kitchen, to say that she had gone to the street.
