"Sage?"

Seth steps in front of me, and eye contact with him makes me forget what I was looking at before.

I stare at him for a moment longer before I realise what I am doing. Had he asked me something?

"What?" I ask.

He laughs. His voice husky and nice and washing over me like summer rain over the bleak cold of winter.

"I asked about your day." he says, smiling boyishly.

The lighting of Brian's house makes Seth's eyes look so nice. They are the kind of liquid brown eyes which seem to be able to make any ordinary girl fall to her feet and swoon with just one smoldering look. This boy practically has the words 'incredibly hot handle with care' stamped all over his pretty face.

"You look good today." I say.

He blinks.

"Thanks." I says. "You look good too. You always do."

Such a natural flirt.

"Stop messing with me." I tell him.

I make my way over to where Jodie and Brian are. They are both sprawled out on a couch, with Jodie's head resting onto his chest. They are smiling at something and their cheeks are tinged slightly with pink, which I is honestly completely adorable.

"Hey Jodie? I think I'm going to head back home." I say.

She frowns when she hears this. She opens her mouth to speak, but Brian beats her to it.

"Do you mind staying with us tonight? Not overnight or anything but I'd like for someone to keep Seth occupied while we make out."

He says it bluntly and I am left standing there a little gobsmacked. Jodie's face heats up immediately and she buries her flushed face into Brian's shirt.

"I thought you said we were going to go out." Jodie mumbles.

"We can multi-task."

He threads his fingers through her hair, stroking the golden strands with a careful gentleness. He shifts, sitting so that Jodie can nestle her head into the crook of his neck comfortably and his arm winds around her petite waist, holding her there. There is an adorable, soft look on his face now, and I know that my previous worrying for Jodie was pointless.

This bad boy is whipped.

"Where are you taking her?" I ask Brian, rubbing my temples wearily.

"I don't know yet, I wanted to decide with her." he says.

"So, this isn't a date?" Jodie asks.

"No."

"Oh."

Brian tilts Jodie's chin up, skimming his thumb across her bottom lip.

"Don't sound so disappointed. When I do take you out for a date, I'm going to make sure it's perfect." he murmurs.

The flush on Jodie's face deepens, and her eyes dart away. Brian smiles crookedly at her.

"You're so whipped it isn't even funny anymore." Seth says, shaking his head. He makes his way past me and over to Brian, ruffling his hair fondly.

"What happened to the guy who made that bet with me and asked out-"

"Shut up." Brian interrupts quickly.

"Shutting up." Seth replies, smirking.

"What's he talking about?" Jodie asks. She starts to get up from his arms but Brian hurriedly stops her. Jodie lets her head fall back onto his shoulder with another slight frown on her face.
