Blooded

Character Descriptions

I have realized that not a lot of people have seen the movie Bright starring Will Smith and Joel Edgarton on Netflix, and probably have no idea what I'm going off of. This is a quick rundown of what you need to know.

2,000 some years ago, there was an Elf, The Dark Lord, who wanted to overtake the world using magic. The Orcs chose his side instead of the side of the Humans and Elves and Dwarves. A hero, an Un Blooded Orc, united the races and brought all the Orcs back to the good side and they killed the Dark Lord. The only way to bring the Dark Lord back is with a Magic Wand, and there are only four of those in existence. And only someone called a Bright can wield a Wand without disintegrating. There is a group of Dark Elves who want to revive the Dark Lord, and one of them is a Bright called Leilah and her sister Tikka, who is also a Bright but wants to stop her sister. They are part of the Inferni. 

Fast forward to now and the Orcs are discriminated against for choosing the wrong side 2,000 years ago. The police use any excuse to harass, beat, arrest, or kill an Orc. Officer Nick Jakoby is the first Orc police officer in L.A. and he is partnered with Officer Daryl Ward. They find a Magic Wand and try to protect it and Tikka. Along the way, they find out Ward is also a Bright. They stop the Inferni and Leilah from reviving the Dark Lord. 

The story of Leilani takes place a few years after the movie Bright, which happened in 2017. My story takes place 2020 when Leilani is 17 and a senior in high school. 

Characters:

Orc: This is Dorghu, he is a Blooded Orc, which means he grew out his teeth. A non Blooded Orc files their teeth down. To be Blooded you must earn the respect of the Clan and they must raise their hand to you. This is usually done with an act of courage. Orcs have vitiligo, always in blue and white, yellow eyes, pointed ears and usually bald. Even the females.  Orcs generally live to be 100-150 years old. 

Above is Officer Nick Jakoby, a Non Blooded Orc, so his bottom teeth are filed down as you can see. 

Elves: This is Kandomere, he is part of the FBI taskforce that deals with magic, all elves usually have pale skin, straight hair, pointed ears, and bright blue eyes.

Above is Leilah on the left and Tikka on the right. They are both Brights and trained in Magic.

Elves have become the "elite" race, and have built shining cities filled with shops and businesses exclusive to the residents. Mostly elves. Elves live to at least 200 years old.

Dwarves: They aren't shown in the movie, so allow me to paint a picture for you, short, excellent engineers, dark brown eyes, and no pointy teeth. Imagine elves, but on a smaller, less pompous scale.  They have underground worlds, connected by tunnels and high tech securities. Anyone is allowed to live in their cities. The Dwarf cities are a haven for all races, and their places in Miami are known for breaking barriers racially. 

This is what I imagine them to look like: 

Muscled from working construction, probably scarred from work accidents, and the women would just be like smaller Human women. Dwarves never get any taller than 4"11, but they build masterpieces. They live to be anywhere from 200-300 years old.

Orcs speak Orkish, Elves speak Elvish, Dwarves speak Dwarven,  and Humans speak English, Spanish, etc. In this story, female Orcs have hair, but many prefer to have it shaved. It's a preference thing, but all male Orcs are bald. I will post updates of my drawings on the characters in the story.
