When it comes to be my turn, I give Harry an anxious smile and he whispers, "You'll do fine."

I cautiously stand up and say, "My name is Peter and I go by he/him. I'm homosexual. I turned seventeen yesterday. My favorite animal is a turtle and my favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas."

Mrs. Johnson says, "Thank you, Peter. And happy late birthday."

"Thank you," I say, sitting down.

Harry gives me the same look I gave him and I whisper, "You'll do fine."

"Hello," he starts, hesitantly. "My name is Harry. I go by he/him and I'm bi, but I prefer boys. I'm seventeen. My favorite animal is a penguin and favorite movie is Coraline."

"Thank you, Harry," Mrs. Johnson says, and we continue going around the room, almost done with the introductions.

For the rest of the time of club it's pretty chill. Today was pretty much a free day. Harry and I don't socialize much, though. He's just leaning over his desk, scribbling something I can't see.

After club I say, "See you guys later," to Clint and Tony as they walk in the opposite direction to their next classes.

As I'm about to walk toward Algebra class, I hear what I questionably recognize as Harry's voice say, "Hey. Peter. Wait up, dude."

I turn around to see that it is, in fact, Harry. "Hey. What's up?" I ask, curiously, smiling, now buzzing with electricity.

Finally catching up to me, he says, "I just wanted to give you this," handing me a piece of paper folded in half. "Happy late birthday."

"Thank you so much," I say, happily.

As I start to walk toward class, Harry says, "Hey. I'm so sorry to bother you, but I'm a bit lost. This is my first week here and they changed my schedule just this morning. Do you mind showing me to the Honors Algebra II classroom? That's my next class after lunch."

"Oh, of course I'll show you. That's my next class too. Just come with me."

During our approximate two minute walk, Harry complains about having to walk to school, followed by being bad at algebra. I explain that I love algebra and that I can tutor him if he wants. "Really? And you wouldn't mind?" he asks, surprised.

"Not at all," I say. "And there's an empty seat next to me, so you can sit by me."

"Awesome," he says, cheerfully. "Thank you."

"My pleasure," I say, classily.

My eyes drift over to look at him and for a second I swear I see a hint of blushing on his cheek. I catch myself staring long enough to notice how green his eyes are; almost like a Forest Green. You're so cute!

His eyes meet mine and I panic, hoping I didn't call him cute out loud. "What?" I ask, fearful.

"Oh, nothing," he says, shaking his head. He fidgets with his hands for a second and says, "Your eyes are just, really blue. Like, Ocean Blue."

Now I feel myself blushing as I anxiously say, "Thank you."

"You are very welcome," he says as we enter the classroom. I lead him to the back to my desk and its empty neighbor and Mrs. Anderson tells everyone to have a seat.
