Geonhak threw a textbook at Kanghyun who winced when it collided with his back. He turned around in anger and almost jumped out of his seat if it weren't for his friends keeping him still.
"Let me at him! That fucking asshole!" Kanghyun shouted as he glared at Geonhak who sat in his seat laughing his head off.
"It's not worth it bro, trust me." a friend said as he placed the textbook on his desk.
"But Minjoon..." Kanghyun whined as he glanced back at Geonhak who had moved onto something else.
"Look, what are you going to gain from beating him up? All that's gonna do is get you in trouble." Minjoon said.
Kanghyun sighed then turned his attention to his notebook. He and Geonhak had been at each other's throats ever since the first week of school in their freshman year. They were in the last stretch of their junior year.
"Yo, Kanggay!" Geonhak shouted, gaining attention from most of the class.
Kanghyun exhaled loudly and slammed his palms against his desk. He turned and faced Geonhak with a serious and angry look.
"I've had it with you!" Kanghyun shouted full of hate and malice before pushing desks aside and seizing Geonhak by his throat.
"Hey, Kanghyun, stop! You're hurting him!" a classmate said as they tried pulling Kanghyun's hands off of Geonhak.
Kanghyun couldn't hear anything and was only focused on his target, Geonhak. Geonhak could feel his brain shutting down from lack of oxygen. Kanghyun was seized by male classmates and Geonhak started to pant for air.
"Kang, calm down! You're going to kill him." a classmate said as they pulled him out of the room.
Geonhak watched as Kanghyun disappeared from sight. His body trembled as he remembered Kanghyun's face and the lack of oxygen he felt. He covered his face then let his body fall forward onto his desk. He didn't think things would go that way.

Kanghyun exited the teacher's lounge and let out a heavy sigh. Minjoon waved to him from across the hall. Kanghyun frowned as he made his way over.
"There's something that might interest you." he said as they walked back to the classroom.
"What?" asked Kanghyun as he peeked into classrooms.
"I heard Geonhak tidied up your desk." he said with a hint of surprise in his voice.
They entered the classroom and all eyes were on Kanghyun. A few students whispered to each other while he gathered his things. He noticed something in the desk then looked it over. It was a piece of candy with a sticky note under it.
"I'm sorry. - Geonhak'. As if this measly piece of candy could make up for all the months he's been harassing me." thought Kanghyun as he left the classroom to go to his next class.
The bell rang and Geonhak quietly observed Kanghyun from his seat. Just as he was about to say something, Kanghyun had turned around and threw a paper ball at him which hit his arm before falling to the floor. He opened it up then felt anger well up inside him.
"Asshole!" Geonhak seethed as he quickly left his seat and started chasing Kanghyun around.
Kanghyun hurried down the steps as he didn't want the cafeteria to run out of his favorite food. Geonhak was hot on his heels, despite having a class on the upper floor.
"Stay still so I can knock you into your next life!" Geonhak yelled then stopped at the sight of a teacher.
The teacher walked past them then disappeared from sight. It was then Geonhak pounced on Kanghyun and thus ensued a fist fight. Students stood by and watched as the two tussled trying to land a blow on the other. Geonhak finally saw an opportunity to strike then stopped. Kanghyun looked at him with defeat written all over his face.
"Hit me." said Kanghyun softly. "You've been dying to do this haven't you?"
Geonhak lowered his arm as he continued to look into Kanghyun's eyes. He lost his drive and motivation all together. He lifted himself off of Kanghyun then extended his hand to him. Kanghyun found the gesture weird. In the end, he found himself taking Geonhak's hand.
"What's wrong with you? Suddenly tidying up my desk? Leaving disgusting candy in my desk with a note? Helping me up off the floor? April fools passed and it's definitely not opposite day." said Kanghyun as he searched Geonhak's face. "What are you plotting?"
"See you later" was all Geonhak said before heading upstairs to class. Kanghyun slightly tilted his head in confusion. For a truly brief moment, he found Geonhak likable.

Kanghyun stretched out as the school day was finally over. He started to pack his things then counted down from ten. He expected Geonhak to come bursting into the room ready to harass him. He reached one then looked up towards the door. Empty. He looked around and confirmed he hadn't snuck in. Kanghyun figured he had something bigger planned out.
Kanghyun decided to pop by his locker before leaving school. He exited the classroom then rounded the corner. There sat Minjoon digging through his locker.
"Are you staying late?" Kanghyun asked as he took a tea box from his locker.
"Nah. I'm going to meet up with someone from another school. I'll see you." he said before taking off.
Kanghyun sighed then freaked out at the sight of Geonhak behind him. Geonhak cleared his throat then awkwardly fidgeted with his hand before extending one towards Kanghyun.
"Truce...?" said Geonhak with a forced smile.
"So, you're expecting me to agree to a sudden truce after years of antagonizing me AND what occurred earlier today?" Kanghyun said angrily.
"Yes...?" replies Geonhak slowly.
"You're a dumbass." Kanghyun said as he closed his locker before walking away.
"Wait!" shouted Geonhak then froze when Kanghyun did. "Uh... you can hit me as many times as you want."
Kanghyun burst into laughter then approached Geonhak. Geonhak knew that saying meant Kanghyun would beat the shit out of him, but he couldn't think of anything else that he'd agree to.
"Alright then. One condition, you can't make a sound." said Kanghyun with an evil grin.
"I'm fine with that." Geonhak replied then followed behind Kanghyun.
Kanghyun found it weird that Geonhak was even suggesting a truce. Did something happen in between their fight and now? Though, it didn't matter. He was granted to right to pick on him without suffering consequences.
They stopped towards the back of the school where people rarely ventured due to not wanting to walk so much. Kanghyun watched as Geonhak tosses his bag to the side then shoved his hands in his pockets. He was really serious about this. Kanghyun walked over to him then kicked him in the chest. He felt satisfied, but it didn't feel as good as before.
"Is that it?" Geonhak asked, snapping Kanghyun out of his thoughts.
Kanghyun landed a few more blows on Geonhak then decided it wasn't worth it anymore. He extended his arm and waited for Geonhak to get the picture. He felt Geonhak hold his hand and noticed it tingled. Kanghyun pulled away then quickly picked up his bag and left. He curiously looked back and wondered if Geonhak would make it home okay.

"You don't have to do this..." said Geonhak as he pulled away.
"I'm taking responsibility. That's all this is." said Kanghyun as he walked with a slightly limping Geonhak.
"I'll be fine. I'll suffer worse later on." replied Geonhak as he waited at a light.
"I'm still taking you home. Well, making sure you get home okay." said Kanghyun with a huff.
Nothing else was said between them as they walked to Geonhak's home. They exchanged brief goodbyes and parted without hesitation.
