Moonbae short where they're just...cute.

Jacob held Kevin's hands as they stared into each other's eyes. "What time is it?" "That's the first thing you ask after declaring an hour of silence?" "Yeah, I'm supposed to pick something up for you." "What is it?" "It's a surprise." "Tell me."

"No." Jacob whined as he pouted. He didn't like it when Kevin kept secrets. "I promise, you'll love it. Now, what time is it?" "A little after 4pm..." "Ah, I should go then. I'll meet you at your place, 'kay?" Kevin kissed Jacob's forehead before taking off.

Jacob slowly trudged to his room as he couldn't figure out what Kevin was going to surprise him with. He opened the door and was greeted by an empty room. He flopped onto his bed and stared at the ceiling. He decided to play a few games on his phone as he waited.

A knock on the door was heard and Jacob went to answer it. "Eh, the surprise is a miniature cake...?" Kevin placed the cake onto Jacob's desk then took out a numbered candle. "4...?" Jacob watched as Kevin places the candle in the cake, lit it and turned off the lights.

"Kevin-" Jacob covered his ears as a party popper had gone off. "Happy 4 months since our first date!" "What...? You've been counting?" "Of course. It's a bit weird, but you've been looking down lately. So I thought this might cheer you up." Jacob felt tears form in his eyes.

Jacob felt his way over to Kevin then briefly turned on the lights before turning them off again. "Why-" Kevin felt a familiar softness on his lips then connected the pieces. Jacob had wanted to kiss in the dark.

Kevin felt the softness leave then whined in hopes of getting it back. "Thank you, Kevin. I thought I was being discreet about it..." "I'm not just your boyfriend, but your best friend too. I know you." "Maybe we should check on the cake and hope wax didn't get in it..."

Kevin turned the light back on then hurried over to the cake to dispose of the candle. Two pieces were then cut and shared amongst the two lovebirds on a warm autumn evening.
