Of course, there is racism everywhere where the white people experience the least amount while the others experience much worse. If racism was a crime, would a lot of people be arrested? Is it even possible for it to be a crime?
As an Asian American, I've got many people try to stretch their eyes and make them a lot smaller, in other words, to laugh at us asians. What would had happened if I were to retort back? Would I be in the wrong?
When I am with my mother, I'd have to try to translate with my broken language, and the other person sitting across from us would roll their eyes and laugh. Since this is a rant book, I would specify these people's race, white.
I'd thought to myself many times, what if I were to point out whenever someone is being racist? Would they throw some racist comments my way? Would they try to kick me out due to them being placed in the spot?
One time, I was out with my father and sister, and this kid, black, goes up to each one of us, laughing, doing the smelly hand signal and said, "deodorant."
How pathetic.
I was utterly speechless. Why? We were just minding our own business and passing by and then this random kid comes up and be racist?
I mean, I shouldn't be surprised by this since racism is everywhere.
I'd also met some people at my school, Mexican, and had said some racist stuff towards me, to which I reply back, and they laugh and say, "it's just a joke."
"It's just a joke."
How funny.
"It's just a joke."
One even claimed that I if I put my hair in a bun I'll look like Mulan. Why? Because were both asians. They even googled some images of asian women and claimed that we look alike.
