You’ve been good friends with the boys in One Direction for a few years now. Yes, that’s right, the one and only, mega-famous British/Irish boy band One Direction. You have different bonds with each of the boys. However, your bond with Liam far surpasses your bonds with the rest of the boys. Of course, you have a massive crush on him, you always have. But you two are just really great friends. Sometimes you worry that’s all you’ll ever be.
Tonight you’re going to see the boys preform in your hometown and you’re so excited to see them again! It’s been a while. You don’t have any fancy seats in the front row, considering it was sold out and you didn’t want to kick anyone out of their seat just because you’re friends with the band. You find your seat, thankful no one noticed who you are. You’re not a celebrity but the fans do know who you are.
As you settle in, the show (and the extremely loud screaming from the fans) starts. The boys come on stage and it gets even louder, believe it or not. The boys start their set and they’re fantastic tonight. A few songs in, the boys try to quiet down the crowd. Eventually it does get quieter and Liam says to the crowd “I’d like to sing a special song to a special girl in the audience tonight. Hopefully she knows who she is and hopefully she likes it.” A goofy smile spreads across your lips, knowing he’s talking about you.
Once the first few cords start, you immediately know what song it is; it’s one of your favourite songs! You let “Give Me Love” by Ed Sheeran play on as the girls start to squeal around you. Liam’s brilliant voice starts to sing the first verse and you continue to smile and mouth the lyrics with him. Then something strikes you. You know what this song is about! You know what these lyrics are saying! You know that Liam has chosen to sing this romantic song to you. Your jaw drops slightly and you stare up on stage at Liam. You can see that he’s scanning the crowd for you. You begin to blush and leave your seat to go backstage and wait there until the end of the concert. You want to see him. You need to see him.
Once the show ends you see all the boys walk off stage and they all smile at you and say hello, asking what you thought about the show, but then Liam walks in and they all look at each other and chuckle “Let’s leave these two alone.” Louis giggles. You watch all the other boys walk off and you turn to face Liam to find him smiling at you and you can’t help but to smile right back at him. He always makes you smile. “Did you like the show?” Liam asks you, trying to be subtle, but you just cut to the chase, “Was that song for me? Did you sing that song for me?” you pester him nervously. He looks down at his shoes and then directly into your eyes. “Did you like it?” he asks with a more serious look. You step closer to him, “Of course I did, Li.” You say smiling at him, staring into those deep brown eyes that always give you butterflies. Without another word Liam cups your face in his hands and kisses you deeply. Suddenly those butterflies turn into fireworks, each pop and crackle more intense than the one before it.
