I put my phone away and helped my mom make her way towards the back seat of his car. "Whats going on sweetie?" My mother asks me.
"Momma, this is Landon he is gonna take us home." I tell her putting her seat belt on. "Oh, that's very nice of him. Is he your boyfriend? He is very handsome." I blushed slightly and Landon chuckled.
"No Momma, Landon is just someone I go to school with." I tell her. I close her door and make my way to the front seat of his car where he is waiting. "Alright lets go, and thank you Landon you didn't have to do this."
"No it's alright."
We drive over to the house in mostly silence, the only noise is me giving directions and the occasional drunken remark by my mother. "The yellow house on the left with the big oak tree and the front porch with the swing." He pulls into the driveway and brings the car into park.
I open the back door of his car to retrieve my mother. "Momma come on lets go inside." I pull her out and make my way towards the front door. She stumbled on the path up to the door. I had her arms over my shoulders but I was struggling to get her to walk straight enough to get into the house. Landon came to the other side of my mother and helped me get her to the door. I opened the door to my house and helped my mother get in the house. I walked her over to the couch and grabbed her glass of water and Advil "There ya go Momma"
I sighed and went back into the kitchen to get a bucket for her to puke in when she is ready. I stopped at the sink. "You got it from here?" a voice behind me said.
"Oh.. uh yeah." I tell him. "Uh thank you for helping me." I say awkwardly.
"No problem." he replies back awkwardly rubbing his neck and running his hands through his sandy blonde hair. "If you wanna stay eat, its the least I owe you." I offer.
"Alright." he says skeptically. I nod and lead him to my room.
"I can order a pizza or something." I tell him. "Yea that sounds good."
I run down stairs and order a pizza. After I finish that I see that my mother has thrown up in the bucket I gave her and looked rather uncomfortable. "Momma lets get you to bed." I pull her off the couch and help her to her room. "I am so sorry baby." "Its okay Momma. "No its not I made your father leave and now I am a mess. I am gonna get better. I am gonna get sober for you baby, I promise." "I know you will Momma." "I am sorry I made your dad leave" "That wasn't you Momma that was me." But she was already asleep by the time I said this.
I got back up when I realized that Landon is standing in the doorway. He stood there with the same stoic look on his face, there was no sign of pity or sadness. "Um... I called the pizza place and the pizza should be here in about thirty minutes." "Sounds good" We made our way out of the room, and back into the living room.
"Wanna watch a movie or something while we wait?" I ask and he nods. I bend down and look for a movie to pick. "We only have musicals cause that's the only we usually watch, but I will look for something more thrilling." he laughed at this,"that's alright."
I pulled out Captain America. "I think this is the most thrilling movie we got other than Singing in The Rain and some Disney movies." He laughs a little. "Sounds like a plan."
I pop in the movie and begin to watch. After about twenty minutes the door bell rings and I get up to answer it. "It's probably the pizza." I walk towards the door, only to hear Landon get up behind me. "You know I can answer a door by myself." I say. "I know but it's more fun this way and I get to scare the delivery guy from checking you out." He says this causing me to blush a little and him to chuckle. "If you must."
