"Bitch, the lecture only started fifteen minutes ago and you're already asleep," Y/N was gently nudged awake, cheeks tainting a deep pink as she flushed with self awareness of how loud her snoring had been, her lecturer sending her a glare. The summer light caused her to squint and screw up her eyes, shielding her delicate vision from the blue sky outdoors.
"Honestly Y/N," Ava sighed, "how much did you drink last night?" There was a disapproving tone to the girl's voice, as she tucked a strand of her brown curls behind her ear.
"Maybe five or six shots," Y/N said with a sheepish grin.
"Of what?" Ava raised a thick eyebrow, her thick lips forming a smirk of their own.
"Tequila," Y/N pinched the bridge of her nose, Professor Litman's drone enraging the fiery torment within her skull. She groaned under her breath, pushing back the strands of hair at either side of her face to allow her to massage her temples.
"You're a light weight honey, always have been," Ava rolled her eyes, her hand disappearing into her hoodie pocket, before reemerging with two slips of paper. "I guess week-night parties aren't your thing, good thing is, these are for Friday."
"Guess who owes me a fiver," Ava chimed as Y/N glanced at the small writing on the ticket, before shaking her head and screwing up her eyes.
"Concert tickets, new band in town called The Kicks, wanna check them out tomorrow night?" Ava asked, Y/N suddenly sat up straight, taking the ticket and holding it up to her eyes.
"Do I feel up to it? Nope. Am I going to go? Absolutely," Y/N grinned, delighted for there to finally be a new band emerging in the area, hopefully a good one.
"Girls," Professor Litman peered over her spectacles, "have you been paying attention to today's lesson? Because I recall seeing Miss L/N asleep on the desk a few minutes ago."
Both pretended to be scribbling down notes, trying not to make eye contact, but at the professors last statement Ava began to snort with laughter.

Y/N and Ava chatted happily, Ava speaking of going back to Hawaii in two weeks for a friend's Luau, and Y/N nodded in interest while both munched on their Burger King burgers. No cure for a hangover was quite as effective as greasy food.
"I'll see you later," Y/N chirped to the tall girl who was now crossing the road to catch her bus, sticking in her earphones and beginning to walk to the beat of her music as she walked down the street.
As Queen blasted through her ears, she stopped and made a turn in to her favourite shop on the street, Mike's Music. Not only was her dad best friends with Mike, the owner as they had been in a band when they were younger, but she had came into the shop every week since she was ten.
She tapped her foot to the Roger's beat, admiring Brian May's flawless riffing while her eyes scanned over the Led Zepplin vinyl section, scanning for their Physical Graffiti album, as Mike had found it hard to get a hold of it.
She mouthed the lyrics, e/c eyes drifting over the whole shelf. She felt a surge of disappointment, shrugging and beginning to wander off into the realm of music, each album cover she seen, Artic Monkey's began to blast inside her brain, AC/DC and Rolling Stones song titles streaming past her eyes.
She heard mumbling, but decided to ignore it as she guessed it was just someone buying something. She continued down the isle undoubtedly humming the lyrics now.
"You know I can hear your music through your ear phones?"
She made out the words through the low vibrations that almost melted into her music, and felt someone pull out one of her earphones.
"Hey, watch it-" she began, spinning around with her eyebrows furrowed, her hands protectively snatching at her free earphone, before her eyes met dark blue ones.
He had dark hair, and dark lashes that framed his startling blue eyes. On his face was a confident smirk, his shoulders were broad but she could see the lines of his muscles through his leather jacket. She took in his model-like appearance, before folding her arms.
"Real rock is supposed to be listened to loud," she said, folding her arms and raising an eyebrow.
She could sense a small shock at her reaction which only made his smirk widen.
"Well-"
"It's also supposed to be listened to uninterrupted." She pushed her earphone back into her ear and continued down the isle, huffing at his nerve to tell her that she was listening to rock too loud in a music store.
She then felt both her earphones exit her ears, and whipped around with a scowl on her face to see the smirking boy, his cheshire grin hitting a nerve deep within her, her jaw clenching.
"What's on your playlist? Have you got any other good songs?" He glanced at her earphones, twisting one around his finger, causing her to notice his silver rings.
"I would have to think they were good to put them on my playlist," she tapped her foot impatiently, doing her best to ignore the veins that ran up his forearms. His confident aura was suffocating, and she just wanted to get away.
"I've got some suggestions for it," his voice was a low hum, his voice sounding playfully melodic as he glanced down at her phone.
"Voodoo Child, Hendrix," he spoke, but as soon as he had finished she interrupted.
"Got it."
He raised his eyebrows and she snatched back both of her earphones, smirking and moving to push them back into her ears.
"Heart Shaped Box, Nirva-"
"Got it," she froze, continuing to grin as she glanced at him, waiting for his next suggestion, finding him now amusing.
"Rock n Roll Star, Oasis," he says, she lifts her phone to his face, revealing that the song he had just rhymed off was actually just starting to play through her earphones.
"So you aren't one of those girls into Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift? Y'know, basic bullshit."
Her smirk faded to a growl once again.
"Just when you were starting to do well." She then pushed one of her earphones into her ear and turned away from him."Hey, what do you mean?" He followed after her, slight confusion adoring his chiselled features.
"It's not bullshit. Don't put girls against each other, I'm not any better than a girl who likes pop music." She spoke, her eyebrows furrowed and her fists clenched tightly as she gazed up at him.
"We like what we like, and that can be any type of music."She then turned on her heel and left the shop, her shoulder's still angular with rage.
