Kerry and Carter

(This part is written by Jexa)

Ok, so this is a brief description of two of my best friends. (Besides Kilo, my pet turtles are the only other beings I know in real life that I  feel good about myself around. XD. (Kind of sad, I know.)

Ok, so Kerry is the bigger of the two, and she's just a big softie. She's really shy around new people, and she often hides under a plastic plant that's in her tank whenever anyone besides me is around. Even though she's just a painted turtle, everyone's always talking about how they can hurt you and they're aggressive, which is just nonsense! Kerry's around 3 inches wide and three inches long, but she couldn't even get her mouth around your pinky if she wanted to! She's a sweety, and really friendly once she gets used to you.

Carter is the really little one. He's only around a square inch in size, so there's a large size difference, but it's really sweet because Kerry acts like a good big sister and takes care of him. She will shield him from new people until she trusts them. But Carter is really curious all the time, and he likes to meet new people. But unlike Kerry, he doesn't like to have his shell petted.

They each have the parts of the tank they like. Carter likes it either up on top of a log, which is the highest place in the tank, or swimming along the edge of the tank. Kerry likes it by where a large rock and the edge of the tank make a Kerry-sized corner, and under the plastic plant.

I actually got Carter before I got Kerry, and he wasn't very brave or outgoing like he is now. When I 'adopted' Kerry, he loved her instantly and became more curious and bold. Kerry wasnt sure what to think of him at first, but now she loves him to pieces. They're so cute! Ahhhhhhhhh...

So I live by a lake that my family owns (it's not a big lake, but I love it anyway. Our house is the only house there. ^^) But Carter was found waaaaaaay far away from the water. Actually, my dad found him, and kept him safe from the birds and other predators until we figured out what to do. We rescued him, and we got to keep him. Then we found Kerry a day or two later. She was also almost eaten by predators. So.... I guess we're animal rescuers!

I guess that's it for droning on about my turts, but if you guys would like to see pictures or anything, or know more, just ask! ^^
