Tessa:
4 weeks earlierI looked up at the timer on my phone for what seemed like the thousand time. I groaned and sat back down on the bed trying to get my eyes to look anywhere but at that stupid pregnancy test.
Finally I heard the beeping sound signaling me that the five minutes were done and that the next thing I would see would change my life forever. I sigh before getting up and grabbing the damned pee stick.
Positive.
I could feel my eyes watering. The test fell out of my hands and hit the ground. I didn't care though. My arms immediately flew to my stomach. There was something growing there now. Something that was part me part Kayden. And no matter how much I hated him at this moment I would never hate the precious little human that was soon to fully form in my belly.

Present time
"Oh what about this one!" My mother gushed over yet another dress. We were currently my mothers favorite boutique called 'Galileo' that was located downtown, and in search of a dress for prom. My last prom to be exact. I looked at the dress and shook my head no. She frowned but walked towards another rack.
Meanwhile, I turned around and walked towards a rack of shorter dresses. My hands held my stomach as I walked which had become a habit in the past four weeks. No one in my family other then my older sister Annabelle knew I was pregnant. She was the only female I ever trusted with everything and even though she was away in London she said that if I needed anything she'd be here in a blink of an eye.
"Theresa darling, what about this one?" I turned and saw my mother holding a gorgeous dress. The dress was floor length with a long cut going from the thigh to the bottom. The dress was a light blue/mint color and it had a long gold belt going around the waist. I smiled.
"I love it mother," I exclaimed. Her smile brightened. "Well! Go try it on" she ushered handing me the dress and gently shoving me towards one of the fitting rooms. I chuckled but did as she said. I carefully hung the dress on the hook and began to remove my clothes. Then slowly I slipped on the dress.
I fixed it a bit with my hands before stepping out. "How does it look?" I asked my mother and Garret, who was the owner of the boutique. They both had the same expressions on their faces.
Admiration. Shock.
Garret was the first to speak. "Oh my, darling that looks gorgeous on you!! You need to take it ! You know what it's on the house! Only if you allow me to do your hair and makeup for that night" he exclaimed excitedly.
I couldn't say no to Garret. He wasn't just Galileo's store owner but he was also my mothers best friend, and my god father. He would do anything for me. "Yes uncle Garret I will allow you to do my makeup, hair and anything else you desire" I exclaimed giggling. He smiled. "Alright well I will go store this dress and you guys can come back next week at 3 so I can work my magic" he exclaimed clapping his hands. My mother and I both agree, said goodbye to Garret, and left the store.
"Honey do you want anything to go get something to eat?" She asked as we walked downtown. I thought for a bit before nodding. We walked towards a small little diner named "Anna's" and walked in. The waitress took us to our seats and said she'd be back with the menu so my mom decided to text away on her phone. I smiled to myself at the fact that my mom was very high tech.
As I looked around he homie diner I saw him. His eyes had already met mine and he held a small smirk as he noticed me look at his companion. Sarah Kyle's.
Sarah was nice, to some people at least. Her parents were both rich so Sarah usually got everything she wanted. Clothes. Cars. Boys. And it seemed she had her eye on Kayden ever since we broke up.
My eyes darted away from him and I looked down at my phone realizing I had a text from one of my closest friends Felix. Felix was amazing. He was tall with beautiful light brown hair and green eyes. Kayden had never liked him but I didn't care. And after the break up he was always there making sure I didn't get hurt. He, like my sister, knew about me being pregnant. They were the only two to know. Anyway Felix promised to help me with everything and be the best uncle to my unborn child.
From: FelixIsHot💋- Hey boo! Where u at?
I still laughed at the contact name that he had put for himself when he had first got a phone back in our freshman year.
To: FelixIsHot💋- Hey loser xD &' I'm @ Anna's . Hby?"Hi Tessa, Mrs. Hale."
Fuck.
I could feel myself tense as I looked up and saw him. He stood there in all his cocky glory with Sarah. Both smiling at me and my mom. My mom looked at me before smiling at him. "Hi Kayden, Sarah," she said, "what are you guys doing here?"
Sarah smiled. "Oh we came to go get my dress and Kayden's tux for prom" she exclaimed. My mom looked back at me and I just stared blankly at her, well that is until my phone vibrated. "And you guys?" I heard Kayden ask. I ignored what my mothers response was and looked down at my phone.
From: FelixIsHot💋- Ooooo do you mind if I go? Fam's gone and there's nothing to eat. Plus, haven't seen mama Hale (;
I smiled and began texting when I heard my mom say "Theresa who is it that you're texting?" I looked up at her. "Oh it's Felix. He says he's going to come because his family's gone and he's hungry. Plus he wants to see you" I said chuckling at the end.
From the corner of my eye I could see Kayden tense at the mention of Felix. Idiot. My mothers smiled brightened. "Oh great!" She exclaimed. Sarah turned to look at me with a smile on her face. "Is it true Felix asked you to prom in the cutest way?" She asked. I blushed and nodded.
It had been during half time during his away championship basketball game. As a cheerleader, we were supposed to dance at half time but this time, the lights in the gym went out. I was so confused until they went back on and there he stood along with the rest of the basketball team. They all held a basketball and on it was written 'If I score a three will you go to Prom with me?' I had laughed and watch him make a three pointer before getting on his knees and handing me a bouquet of roses that his sister had been holding. Of course I said yes and well yeah.
"Talking about me aren't you" the cocky voice of my best friend exclaimed as he walked toward our table. I smiled and then noticed Kayden become more tense and his knuckles whitened. I also noticed the smirk on Felix's face as he came to sit next to me and kiss my cheek. "Hey boo, Mrs. Hale, Sarah. Kayden." He said that last part with so much hatred that the tension was felt in the air.
"Felix," Kayden replied and then turned to Sarah. "Come on babe, let's let these people eat now. Plus we have to get home" he said wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer to him. My heart clenched but I ignored it and leaned into Felix. Sarah said goodbye to us and her and Kayden left in a rush. The table was silent for a while, Felix and I knowing what Kayden meant, until the waitress arrived and took our order.
That's when I truly realized how hungry I really was, and how much this waitress had lagged in bringing our drinks.
