Shayne and Noah talking waiting for the elevator.
The elevator arrived and the door was just about closed when they heard someone call for it to be held open. Shayne stuck his arm in between the doors.
"Thank you so much, floor 4 please. Oh. You're all heading up there too."  She said slightly out of breath and flustered.

"Yeah, we work there." Noah said. Shayne slapped the back of his head. "I'm Shayne and the smartass is Noah." He said. "Hi, nice to meet you guys. I'm Emma."

Shayne and Emma exit first, Noah walked out said a quick bye and went to the room where Kieth was.

"So are you working here?" He asked
"Oh. I guess Ian didn't tell you guys. But yeah I am." She said.
"Oh that's cool where exactly?"
"Well all over actually."
"Oh a jack of all trades." He joked
"Haha yeah guess you could say that. Ian said I would be sitting next to you actually."
"Oh word. Just follow me. Do you need help with any of your stuff?" He noticed she seemed to be struggling. "If you wouldn't mind."
"No dont stress." He said taking a box out of her hand. "I kinda guessed we were getting someone knew bc there's an empty desk next to me haha."
"I wonder why Ian didn't tell you guys."
"He's been really out of it recently. Stressed, tired, and overwhelmed. It probably just slipped his mind." Shayne places her box carefully on her desk.
"Okay. Thanks for the help this morning I was afraid of being late, and just nervous in general."
"Don't be. Everyone here is super chill, you'll fit in well. Plus you have a hella cool desk neighbor."
"Haha yeah he's pretty cool." She chuckled pointing to the plant next to her and starting to unpack her stuff and place it on her desk. She takes out a photo of an Australian Shepherd.
"Oh my god that dog is adorable, Australian Shepherds are my favorite dog, I had some growing up!" Shayne said excited
"No way! No one ever knows about Australian Shepherds. This is my boy Turtle."
"That's such a good name holy crap."
"Haha thanks, he's back at my parents house till I get settled out here, I miss him."
"Oh where are you from?"
"New Jersey."
"Wow, you're far from home. What made you want to move out here?"
" I always pictured myself out west. And I was bored in the east coast and wanted to live somewhere different."
"That's valid. Well, welcome to California! If you have any questions about anything don't hesitate to ask me." He said in a stupid tourist guide voice grinning and going back to work.
"Thanks!" Emma said continuing to place items on her desk. After about 10 minutes she finished and got to work.

"Wait. Have you met everyone else yet?" Shayne asked.
"I have not. I've been right next to you all morning."
"You know what. We are going to go on a little tour." He said excited. "Come on" he took her hand a pulled her out of her seat. "Alright." She said with a big smile on her face. She was really happy she made a friend so soon. "So where are you staying?"
"I'm actually really lucky, a family friend is letting me stay with him until I find somewhere to settle down
"How is it?"
"Pretty nice, but kinda small. I need to find a place soon I feel really bad. And he has family coming over in 2 weeks."
"Oh rough."
"Yeahhh." She said seemingly stressed and Shayne realized so he changed the subject quickly.
"Here is the wondrous place we call. The break room. We got coffee. A microwave. Refrigerators. And best of all. Ceramic plates. Pretty impressive right?"
"HELLA" she said laughing. Then Noah walked in. Shayne got closer to Emma and put on his Australian accent.
"Here we see a wild Noah, in his natural habitat. Just watch." Noah was rolling his eyes making his coffee.
"Oh what's he doing? Ahh it seems he is going to dehydrate himself." He continued while Emma is trying to hold back her laughter.
"Hi Noah!" Emma said when she finally composed herself; Shayne still laughing.
"Hey, sorry about being an ass in the elevator."
"No worries! Shayne was just showing me around and introducing me to people."
"Oh cool, I'd love to stay and chat but I gotta run some lines with Keith. But we'll stop by when we're done. And properly introduce ourselves."
"Sounds good, see ya later!"
Noah waved and walked away. Shayne continued to do quick introductions with everyone, then finally circled back to their desk. They were about to sit back down, then Ian called everyone into the conference room.
"Alright guys, I would like to introduce the newest member of Smosh! Emma come on up here!"
Emma awkwardly stood up while everyone clapped.
"Uhh hi."
"So this is Emma and she'll be be helping around everywhere basically. And as the newest member. I want her to be one of the captains of Summer Games."
Emma stood there confused, but the whole room seemed to be nodding and in agreement.
"Sarah and Matt would you guys do the honor of giving Emma a tour of the place?"
"Oh I already did that. Sorry" Shayne said
"Oh. Okay well everyone go back to what you were doing. Thanks for coming."
Emma and Shayne left to go back to their desk. Before they sat down Shayne said with a smirk, "well. Welcome to the smosh fam" and gave Emma a hug. "Thanks." Emma said blushing a hit and her heart racing. They finally went back to work.
"So what are you working on exactly?" Emma said looking over the border of her and Shayne
"I'm writing some scripts, we do a lot of collaborative work with the scripts."
"Oh that's cool, have you ever written one just on your own?"
"Yeah but not too many, I wanna write more."
"You should! I love just writing little things on my own. It's kinda therapeutic for me."
"Yeah I get that. So what are you working on?"
"Well right now I'm doing some editing on your videos, then I'm going to make a thumbnail."
"That's so cool, I wish I knew how to edit and do photoshop."
"Maybe I'll teach you sometime." She said with a slight laugh.
"Haha yeah. Do what did you do before this?"
"Well I actually worked on theatre. Production of course, but I had worked with editing software before, which is how I landed this job."
"Oh that's really cool! Have you done acting before?"
"I've done plays, I can't sing for shit. And I did improve with my friends."
Shayne and Emma went back and forth the entire day talking, laughing, and working; really becoming friends. It made Emma a lot less anxious and more comfortable in her new work environment. After a few days she began to get the groove of everything.

She walked to Ian's desk. "So about the whole smosh summer games thing?"
"Yeah? What about it?"
"I'm a bit confused? Why am I going to be a captain?"
"Oh well we have another person coming and I think that would have been a perfect way for you guys to be introduced to the viewers."
"Oh okay I get it."
"Is that okay? I'm sorry I totally should've asked. Everything has kinda been slipping my mind, and just a lot is going on."
"Oh yeah no I'm fine with that. It actually makes sense. And I get it no need to apologize, I hope everything is going alright."
"Yeah everything's fine."
"Okay. But if you need help with anything just let me know. You've made my dreams come true. And I know you are really important to a lot of people, and deserve time for yourself."
"Thank you, and we are glad to have you, you fit in really well here."
"Awe thank you it means a lot. So what's my team name? You got me pumped!"
"Haha yeah you're gonna be the captain of the Laser Lizards"
"Oh nice nice nice. What's the theme?"
"Smosh Summer Games: Safari"
"Oh that's so cool!!"
"Yeah we got a great team. And I'm sorry but I need to get some work done before this shoot, but if you have any other concerns don't hesitate to ask anyone."
"Oh yeah no problem and don't worry I will! Thanks again!" She waved and left his desk. She made her way back to her desk to finish a video up before she had to get the set ready.

Shayne was running lines with Courtney and Damien. They finished up so just decided to relax.
"So how's your new neighbor?" Courtney asked
"Oh Emma? She's great, really funny, sweet, and just like a good and genuine person."
"That's good!" Damien added "Yeah she seems really cool. Haven't really talked to her that much, someone's been hogging her." Damien and Courtney looked at each other and laughed. Looking all confused "what are you talking about?" Shayne asked.

"Dude, you have barely left her alone. I'm surprised she's gotten work done." Damien said.
"What? I'm just making sure she knows people and the area, she's not from here."
"Yeah. Okay." Courtney said sarcastically.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Shayne started to get defensive.
"Well we've only seen you act like this with very few people. And those few people you asked out." Damien pointed out.
Shayne started to get red "I don't know what you're talking about. And I don't care. I don't like her. I'm just being nice. Don't we have to be on set." He walked out and went to the studio, leaving Courtney and Damien behind.
