chapter 12

(Ben's Point Of View)

I finaly got jack outside. Believe me it wasn't easy.

"Ok I'm here, now tell me whats wrong with Ella!" He shouted.

I let out a sigh and sit down.

"She's dying." I say while looking at the ground.

There was a long silence. Then jack spoke up.

""What do you mean she's dying?" he growled.

"Were you aware Ella can change? but only if she's extreamly pissed or near death?" I asked.

"Yeah I've always known that. Why? How do you know that?" He says.

"Well, that time I saved her.....she was still in that form. She was in the woods covered in blood. I went over to her, and asked what was wrong with her. She told me to leave, but then her back started burning. Smoke was coming off her even though there wasn't a flame. She started screaming in pain. I lifted up her shirt to investigate, and saw this circle with a number in it. The smoke was coming from the number that was burning her skin. Tiny flames burned the number and changed it from a 9 to an 8. After that she slowly changed back to normal. I couldn't leave her there, so I picked her up and carried her to a little camp I had. This was right after I died and was released from the game. Way before slenderman found me. At first she wouldn't talk to me, other than the occasional insult or order for me to leave her alone. After a while though, she eased up and talked to me for a while. I guess she figured I wasn't normal and if I wanted to I could've already killed her. She told me about what happened to her and how she got the way she is. She said she was getting candy for her brother, and was attacked by humans. While she was being attacked, she heard her brother's song. She thought you were coming to save her."

Jack stared at me in disbelief. I continued.

"She knew you were there. When the humans scattered she was taken with them." I said.

"And?" Jack asked.

"I think Ariella should tell you the rest." I said.

"Why do you keep calling her Ariella?" he asked

"Her real name is Ariella Elizabeth Gallows, and even though we look older, she is over 300 years old."

Laughing Jack looked as if he was processing what I just said.

"Wait, so you mean to tell me that Ella is actually older than me?" He asked.

"Yup. by a little under 200 years."

Jack then walked to a tree and sat by it.

(Laughing Jack's Point of View)

Wow. Ella isn't who I thought she was.

"Well what is Slendy doing to her?" I ask, afraid of what the answer might be.

"Trying to purify her." Ben said, "It may take a while, but she'll be fine afterwards."

"What do you mean purify her?" I ask.

"Ariella can explain better." He said.

Thats when Ella came out the door.

"Hey Guys!" She beamed.

"Are you okay now?" I asked.

"Yup never better! Sorry to scare you guys like that. Hehe."

I just looked at her dumb founded.

"Hey Jacky are you ok? You haven't laughed at all today."  she said.

I froze. I haven't laughed? I ALWAYS LAUGH! I'M LAUGHING JACK!

"Uh.....hehe yeah I'm fine" I said.

"He's not really fine is he?" She giggles to Ben.

"Not really. Hey uh....you might get mad....but I told Jack how I met you....and he wants to know why its bad for you to change." He said.

Her mood changed like lightning. She spun on her heels and faced Ben.

"YOU WHAT!!!!" She yelled.

"Look he deserves to know!!" He yelled back.

"Fine!" She faced me. "You wanna know?!" She yelled.

I nodded and she began.

(Toby's Point Of View)

I finally made it back to the mansion. I heard yelling from the side of the house. I snuck around and stayed behind the trees. I saw Ariella, Ben and LJ. Ariella was yelling at LJ.

"You wanna know?!" She asked/yelled.

LJ nodded his head.

"Fine," she said "That night I left to get you candy, my facade failed. Just my luck, it failed in front of a church. The humans ran after me. I was cornered and they tried to burn me. I tried to get away but was ultimatly engulfed in flames. I heard your song, and I thought you were coming to save me. I started singing, hopeing they would leave me alone. All that did was give them an idea. They figured that if they captured me then it would lure you out so they could kill you. When you didn't come after me, they cursed me. The town priest put something on me. After 13 transformations my soul will be damned and I will die. Forced to forever be in hell. I only have one transformation left Jack. I almost died today because of Toby. He kissed me, and I impaled him with ice. I got so mad for losing control that I almost changed." She said.

I.....I almost killed her? I ALMOST KILLED HER! WHAT THE HELL!

I backed away from the tree and ran in the mansion, to my room. I could hear Jeff and Sally asking each other what was going on. As soon as I entered my room Slenderman came up behind me.

"Toby." he said.

"Yes sir."

"What is troubling you?" He asked.

"Nothing sir." I reply.

"Toby, I know when you are upset. Did you forget?" He says.

"No sir." I twitch.

I'm one of the only ones that can keep Slenderman from reading my mind. I don't know why, but I'm gratefull for it. I can tell he is trying to right now. I don't want him to know. I wasn't even supposed to know. I'm twitching quite a lot now. I know he has his suspicions, but it isn't my place to let him know. Its Ariella's. When she's ready. I hope I haven't made it worst for her. What am I saying, of course I have. I'm horrible. I'm-I'm horrible.

Horrible.

Horrible.

I guess I blacked out. I realize I am in a house, covered in.....in....in blood. Shit! I did it again! I got so upset that I blacked out and went psycho! Damn it!

"Toby?" A familiar voice calls out.

I look into the dark corner of the room I'm in. With the help of light seeping through the window, I can make out a pair of ice blue eyes.

"Ariella?" I ask.

She comes into the light, and she looks upset.

"You followed me?" I ask.

She nods. I was gonna ask her what was wrong, but she cut me off.

"I know you overheard me talking to Jack." she says.

I froze. Her voice peirces me. There is so much hurt, anger, and something else I can't place.

I hang my head and twitch slightly.

"Toby." She calls.

I look up and what she did next blew my mind completely.
