Shikadai's legs buckled beneath him, his face pale. "Yeah..." he mumbled faintly before collapsing.
"Shikadai!" Inojin cried, catching him just before he hit the ground.
Chocho turned, alarmed. "What happened?!"
"I don't know!" Inojin said, his voice tight with panic. "He just fainted out of nowhere!"
Chocho sighed, hands on her hips. "Well, he looks exhausted. You should take him to your place so he can rest."
"Me?!" Inojin spluttered. "Why can't you take him?"
"Because I have plans with Sarada," she replied nonchalantly, already turning to leave. "You've got this. See ya!"
Inojin groaned, looking down at Shikadai. "Fine. Let's get you home."
At Inojin's home...
Shikadai stirred awake, blinking against the dim light. He sat up slowly, pulling off his hairband and running a hand through his tousled hair.
"Inojin," he murmured.
Inojin, sitting at the edge of the bed, turned to him with a relieved smile. "Shikadai, you're awake. You scared me, you idiot."
Before Inojin could say anything more, Shikadai leaned forward, capturing his lips in a firm but gentle kiss. The kiss was unhurried, yet filled with emotions neither had put into words.
Inojin froze for a moment, his heart racing, but quickly melted into it. When they broke apart, their faces were flushed.
"Shikadai, what was that for?" Inojin asked, his voice barely a whisper.
Shikadai smirked faintly, his usual laid-back demeanor returning. "For always being there for me. For caring." His hand found Inojin's, their fingers intertwining.
The air between them shifted as Shikadai moved closer, brushing his fingers along Inojin's cheek. "Do you trust me?" he asked, his voice low.
Inojin nodded. "Always."
Shikadai kissed him again, deeper this time, pulling him down onto the bed. What followed wasn't rushed—it was careful, mutual, and unspoken in its tenderness. They explored the feelings they had both been hiding, every action guided by trust and affection.
When it was over, they lay tangled in the sheets, their breathing soft and steady. Inojin rested his head on Shikadai's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
Shikadai glanced down at him, brushing a strand of hair out of his face. "You're stuck with me now," he murmured with a teasing grin.
Inojin chuckled softly. "I think I can live with that."
As the night settled around them, they drifted off to sleep, the bond between them stronger than ever.
