Vampire Bride

Chapter 1

It was my first day at Kacao Academy and things had never been better. I was finally in a school with my Best Friend and also my Older Cousin, Ronica. She loved me more than my own parents did. She looked after me more than my parents did. I knew she'd be over protective as this school was known for its danger and deaths but I didn't realise how bad it was until I entered the school and saw something my tiny mind couldn't take.

I pushed my long brunette hair behind my ears and pulled my skirt slightly above my knee. Ronica looked down at me, as she was quite tall for a 15 year old where as I was small for a 14 year old.
"Are you a stripper?" She said.
"Yes Ronica. I'm Definitely a Stripper." I said. The sarcasm was exaggerated a bit.
"I can tell by how high your skirt is." She responded. She started laughing as I jumped up to hit her. Just a small play fight.

"Ronica? Cody?" A old, croaky voice from behind spoke. Ronica quickly jolted round and I followed her, not knowing where that voice had came from.
"Oh. Principal Risenmore I suppose?" Ronica said.
"Yes. What a pleasure to meet you both! Welcome to our school! As you can see this is no ordinary school. I'm quite surprised we still get new students after our reputation..."
"Guess it's just the thrill seekers" I said. He smiled.

"You know, Cody. You seem like the girl who could use a bit of thrill. But like any other school we have our normal school rules. We have some other rules about the 2 different sections of our school so depending on how long you decide to stay here. You'll learn along the way. Now! I'm presuming you want to stay together in a dorm?"
"It doesn't really matt-" I muttered.
"Yes. Yes we would sir." Ronica interrupted. She put her hand on my back as if to say ' You're safe with me.'
"Perfect! Come with me then!" He spoke.

Ron never actually told me what happened in the schools reputation because she said it would scare me and make me not want to go here. She had a point and as I've already said, she would protect me. No matter what situation. She'd risk her life for me.

It was Morning. Around the Time that School Kids would start school. So as we walked around, we saw kids hanging around in the corridors and messing around trying to make last minute benefits before their classes started. I hid behind Ronica the entire way there. I couldn't put my finger on it but there was something about some certain people in this corridor that made me feel uneasy. And everyone else too. They wore a different uniform to everyone else. It was the same style but instead of our usual black shirt, theirs was white. It was a pair of boys and honestly, they were stunning. They looked my age, maybe a bit older but they looked amazing.

"Like what you see?" One grinned, looking at me. He had Sky Blue eyes, and pointed teeth. Like Fangs. He had beautiful jet black hair that fell perfectly on his face, like it was a messy hairstyle that looked sexy.
"You trying to hit up my Cousin on her first day. We'll see about that then won't we. Mr Tough Guy."
Ronica Shouted. She could tell me and Mr Risenmore were surprised.
"Aww Puppy. We're Vampires. I'll crush you with a finger if I have to." The Boy snickered. At this point everyone was watching. He raised his fingers and immediately Ronica started holding her throat like she couldn't breath. "Sweetheart. I'll flirt with who I want, when I want. It's not like this little human girl could escape me anyway. I've always liked a smaller girl. Someone who was afraid of me yet would stand up for me. That's my type of girl... You see all these Vampire Girls just don't check my boxes-"
"D... Don't you l...lay a finger on her..." Ron stuttered through clenched teeth. She was starting to go purple. He put his hand down, and she started breathing heavily like she had lost oxygen for minutes on end.
"What's your name." He whispered to me. I looked into his eyes that were now extremely close to mine.
"Cody..." I muttered. This guy made me uneasy and I couldn't tell if this Vampire thing was a set up or not.
"Well, Cody. I'm Darius. If you didn't already know, I'm from the Night Class. So seeing as the sun is rising, I'll let you head to your classes. I will see you again. Goodbye" He smiled. He kissed me slightly on the cheek then turned into a bat and him and his other ally flew away.

Ronica hugged me tight. It's like she didn't want to let go. By this point, the principle had gone far from here.
"You never even told me this was a Vampire School!" I screamed. Ron looked down like she was ashamed of herself and tried to hold my hands. I pulled away.
"It's different Cody... You don't understand..."
"So what if I don't understand! I'm 14! I can make my own decisions! I don't need you trying to protect me all the time. Now I'm going to find my class without your help or not!"

I stormed off, clearly annoyed at the situation. Was everyone a vampire? I still didn't understand why everyone was wearing a different uniform to them two. I was particularly surprised on what Darius said about me to Ronica. Did he really mean that? What was that kiss for? Is he just winding me up? I didn't know. But I was stressed. It's my first day and I'm getting myself caught up in people like I promised myself I wouldn't! I carried on walking, Caught up in my thoughts and I fell to the ground. I'd hit something or someone. I looked up and I couldn't believe what this person was or who they were before my eyes...
