Notice:

The first chapter includes many time skips. This is mainly to give readers a glimpse of the different parts of the main character's life that are important before you reach the main section of her life, where the drama starts.

Basically, it's a more detailed backstory.

I felt the need to say this in case some readers get annoyed by the amount of time skips & don't understand the reason why.

I just wanted to get that out of the way.

Thank you & enjoy ;) .

"She's absolutely beautiful," Jessica beamed down at her newborn daughter. "Look at how full her little lips are, Don."

Donald stared in disgust at the manner in which his sister held her daughter. He was still quite disordered that Jessica was only sixteen and now a mother. "Yeah," he responded, dryly. "When is Darius coming to see his child?"

Jessica broke her gaze from her daughter. Her sweet expression quickly altered to a gloomy one. "We haven't talked since I found out I was pregnant." She restated while looking down at her hospital gown. Jessica could've sworn she made her whole family aware of Darius' rejection to parenthood numerous times before. "You know that."

"I told you that boy was no good," Jessica's father, Dennis, spoke up. "Damn it, Jessica."

"Don't go too hard on her, Pops." Her older brother, Timothy, defended her from the corner of the hospital room. "Just let her be happy right now," he added. "She literally just had a baby."

Her father rubbed his forehead with his fingers to help decrease the amount of stress and confusion he was experiencing.

Jessica's other three brothers sat in hospital chairs just watching the situation unfold. Even though the baby was here, the family's hurt was still fresh. Her five brothers were disappointed in themselves that they allowed their baby sister to get pregnant by some low-life instead of protecting her, like they always vowed they would.

Currently, Jessica's baby was fast asleep in her comforting arms. Jessica adored the way her baby's smooth, mocha face would slightly twitch every time she took in a breath. She also loved how long and full her child's eyelashes were and the little wrinkles that decorated her full lips.

The tension in the room was so thick and uncomfortable that one of her brothers, Sunny, decided it was time to lighten up the mood. "What you thinking of naming her?" He asked.
