Lucy's POV
Steadily, I made my way down the red carpet-covered stairs leading to the luxurious ballroom as Natsu strolled behind along with Happy. Despite the large quantity on guests, the room remained in it's glory with golden chandeliers decorated with crystals that shone a kaleidoscope of colours, drapes of red across every window and door, a glossy floor that made every man and woman on the floor twirl in upmost grace. It was truly a magnificent sight - well, that was before I could see Natsu and Happy running to scoff up all the buffet food like pigs.
"They will never learn" I giggled to myself, gaining the attention of a masked man in the distance. Everyone was masked at this party of course but his was rather strange; he wore a black swan-like mask that had a spread of feathers around the rim. I straightened up my own white feather masquerade mask and approached the man.
Before I could reach the tall, brooding man, a couple of ballroom dancers had waltzed (literally) in between us and with no sign of Natsu around, I saw no reason to turn back. Carefully approaching the man, I had gone around all the dancers and of course, it was just my luck to trip over. My large sparkly high heels had hindered my footwork as I was about to fall face first onto the ground, 'at least it's still as glossy as ever' I thought as I began to reach out to break my fall. However, when I had finally opened my eyes from their squinting action, I was greeted with the strange masked man as he mischievously smirked and I had realised the position we were in. I was half way doing the tango and being dipped towards the floor, only supported by his gentle yet secure arm. I flushed red in an instant, my red face being half covered by the white swan mask on my face that matched the flirtatious stranger. All of a sudden, we recovered from the dip and he raised my hand delicately above my head, resulting in a spin, much like the rest of the people around us. My pink rose dress swirled around my body like a delicate flower and we had danced t the centre of the room - many people moving away to let us pass through. By this point, I had finally gained vision of Natsu as he simply stared, whether it was in worry, shock, jealousy or rage I didn't have the knowledge of as in a moment, he had vanished behind the crowds of guests yet again.
After regaining my breath and being steady on my feet again, the strange man lead me away to one of the private quarters of the building. In this section of the Castle-like hall was a large balcony that presented the outskirts of Fiore that much looked like a toy city from this distance, my attention was drawn back to the mysterious individual, "such a beautiful view, wouldn't you agree?" he questioned, yet again smirking in my direction.
I nodded in response as he held me close to him, the distance between us became shorter by the second and I was becoming fearful yet more curious. He laughed, "I believe that your beauty is nothing compared to this view under the starry sky", then, as I blushed due to the words that I longed for, he planted a kiss on my pink lips.
But this kiss wasn't right... Not at all.
Natsu ran around the corner of the balcony doors and tried to reach out to me.
"Lucy!!" He yelled, "That's him! The guy we're looking for!!!"
It was already too late...
