It was an ordinary snowy day for anyone. Not for one though. She was always alone, staring at the happy children playing in the snow. Her name is myoui mina. Snow always reminded her of loneliness, the times where all she could do was sit and watch. But she always caught herself staring at someone. The girl next door.
She always thought about how stupid that girl was, but she still found it cute. She still remembers the day that girl tried to eat snow. That was 8 years ago.
She always wondered where the girl had gone, and more importantly, when she would come back. That girl was special to her. One day she waved to that girl, and to her surprise, she waved back.
Curiosity got the best of her, so she put on her coat and trudged through the snow. Her parents always convinced her that snow was harmful, but she always fantasized about playing around in the snow with her.
She finally got to the door. She knocked on the door, still curious on who will answer.
A pale lady came out and opened the door.
"Hello Ms. Hirai." mina calmly said
Ms. Hirai looked very confused on why is a girl like her standing there.
"Hello child, what do you need?"ms. Hirai spoke
"What happened to your daughter?"
Mina was surprised on the reaction she made. Ms. Hirai was crying. Her tears falling down like snow.
Ms. Hirai's voice was breaking "Y-you don't know?"
Mina stayed quiet.
"She was hospitalized long ago..."
Mina could not believe her ears. That girl, hospitalized? Those words will never fit together.
She was struggling to keep her composure "Which hospital?"
Ms. Hirai looked at her "She's in the lifeline hospital..."
Mina was shocked. She started running. She had never wanted to hear that name ever again. That place was filled with grief. That place was where her only friend Sana passed on.
She kept in running until she got to the front desk. The place was unwelcoming, grief stained in the halls, mourning can be heard in every direction.
Mina finally caught her breath "May I see patient hirai?"
The nurse looked really tired, she looked like she could collapse at any second.
She typed in some stuff."Room 336" the nurse said
Mina thanked the nurse and sped away
She was not ready to see someone so precious and stupid die. She finally reached the room, kicking the door open, she saw a girl with one too many machines strapped to her.Mina finally let her tears fall "So this is where you've been all along..."
She awkwardly waved her hand to the girl, and to mina's surprise, the girl waved back. Mina practically jumped at the girls action.
The girl weakly spoke and flash a smile "Hey, hey, calm down. You're gonna wake up the other patients."
Mina was overjoyed to see her up and well, she could not think of what to say.
"It's snowing..." was all Mina was able to say
The girl's face lit up like a Christmas light.
The girl happily shouted "Well what are you waiting for?!"
"Pabo." Mina smiled and walked to the Window, opening the blinds.
The snow was slowy drifting down from the sky, gently coating the roofs of the houses. The place looked like a winter Wonderland, peace and happiness in the air.
The girl startled Mina "By the way-- I never got your name?" she held out her hand. Mina gladly shook it.
"Mina."
"Momo."
The snow fell down as the girls talked and shared stories. The day was filled with happy in this once depressing room.
