Jiro looked across the road blankly. What was she doing here? What was she even doing in the first place? All she knew was that she was walking with her friends to the mall and that was just about it. Her mind was pretty much off the whole walk. She was just listening to her music the whole entire time.
“Hey, Jiro,” Said a voice that snapped her out of her little trance, “You coming?”
She hummed and looked beside her to see Kaminari looking at her strangely, “Yeah, I just zoned out for a second.”
Kaminari smiled and practically skipped across the crosswalk. The brainless idiot was so silly sometimes, she didn't even know how she could keep a straight face sometimes.
She glanced up at the light, she had a couple of seconds to get across, she might as well move. Without wasting another second, she started walking across the crosswalk and started walking when she saw Yaoyorozo’s eyes go wide.
“Kyoka!” She shouted, “Watch out!”
She turned around to see a car speeding towards her. At that moment, everything was in slow motion. Jiro knew she had to run. She had to move her legs and get out of there.
As the slow-motion car continued to come at her, she tried desperately to move her legs. Unfortunately for her, her damn legs couldn't stop shaking. Her heart was racing, hands were clammy, and it was getting harder to breathe. Why was she so damn scared? If she wanted to become a hero, she couldn't choke like this. She had to move.
“Jiro!” Screamed a slow-motion Kaminari.
She whimpered and squeezed her eyes shut. All she could do right now was wait for the inevitable.
“Earphone girl,” Screamed Bakugo, “Just move damnit!”
The slow-mo car was close to her, she could hear it. This was it, the end.
Just as she was sure she was about to get hit, she felt herself being shoved to the ground. Her eyes snapped open just in time to see Kaminari get hit by the car. His yellow eyes were full of surprise as he went flying.
“Kaminari!” She screeched as she tried to get up. However, she found it extremely difficult to get up as a sharp pain shot up from her ankle.
She looked over at Kaminari just in time to see his face twisted into one of pain and agony once his body hit the concrete. The sight of his body just lying there almost made her lose it.
Jiro crawled over to him to try to see how he was doing. She let her jacks plug into his chest so she could listen to his heartbeat. To her relief and dismay, it was there, but the only problem was how faint it was.
“Kaminari?” She breathed softly, “A-are you…”
She couldn't finish her sentence, it was too hard. Here he was lying on the ground, barely alive. She can't stand it.
“Jiro…” Wheezed Kaminari, “Am I… going to… d-die?”
The earphone jack user sniffled and shook her head, “No way, you're gonna get help, just don't strain yourself.”
“Helps on the way, dude,” Said Kirishima as he jogged over, “Just hold on a little longer.” He crouched beside them and reached towards Kaminari, “Let’s get him out of the street.”
She grabbed his wrist and pushed it away, “Don't touch him!”
“Kyouka, let him help you.” Scolded Yaoyorozu, “You can't do this by yourself.”
She glared at her friend, “Watch me.”
She growled and snaked her arms under him before lifting him up off the ground. He was about as heavy as she expected, but even so, her small frame wasn't exactly made to lift anyone this heavy. He was so much bigger than her and way heavier too, but that wasn't stopping her.
Jiro staggered over to the sidewalk, ignoring the sharp pain coming from her injured ankle before setting down the now unconscious boy.
“What the hell was that?” Barked Bakugo as he grabbed her by the neck, lifting her off the ground, “You got a death wish or something?”
She looked up the explosion user and shook her head, “I don't know what happened there, but I-I just-”
His hard glare almost softened as he looked at her, as distraught, broken, and lost as she was. It surprised her how much his expression relaxed. It almost seemed as if he understood.
"Don't be so reckless, idiot," He scolded softly, "So that means you can't go dying on me."

Jiro sniffled weakly as her head fell in her hands. It was her fault. She had spaced out and made a dumb decision because she wasn't paying attention. Her stupid actions had consequences and stupid Kaminari was the one that had to pay it. How stupid.
"I'm so sorry, " She whispered softly, "I'm sorry you had to go through all this."
"Don't worry about it," He said weakly, "It was my decision and mine alone. Don't feel bad for something I did."
"I can't help it, because of me… you… you're… I-I… I don't know what to say. There's nothing I can say other than I'm so sorry." She apologized.
Kaminari chuckled flatly and reached his hand out to try to grab her own, "Hey, things happen. Worrying about why will only drive you mad."
She shook her head, "Since when do you say anything smart? This is so unlike you."
"Well, Mr. Aizawa told me that at least a million times and I thought it fit this situation perfectly."
"Heh… your such a dork."
"Oh well, at least I'm not a lame crybaby like you."
"Shut up, you're still a brain-dead idiot," She said jokingly as she looked up at Kaminari, who had decided to sit up.
He smiled lazily at her, "Aw shut up, you still love me."
"So what if I do?"
"I'd love you right back."
