Stranger Danger

I was out and about to go home.

I know i should not be walking home alone at this time of night. But i had no choice. I had a late night shift in the café. Plus, this is my new job, and this is a new place. I cannot just act like "I cannot do night shifts , 'cause i am a scaredycat at night!"

As i was walking, i heard some rustling in the woods.

Yeah! My home have a beautiful view of the forest. But, at night, it is creepy!

I paid not much attention to it, as i kept walking. Knowing that an animal must be there. I should just keep walking, 'cause it is just 15 minutes away.

But as i was walking, i felt like an entity was watching me. I could hear the breathing . It was very close to me.

I have seen in horror movies, that if you hear or see something strange at night, go towards it. And I'ma do right opposite to that stupid shit! I ain't ready to die at the age of twenty! I'm “Tween Queen” baby!

But looks like, the strange thing has seen the horror movies also.

Because, i felt like as i was walking, i heard the entity walking closer to me.

Then all of a sudden, i heard an angry , yet frustrated growl. That made me fall on the road.

I saw that the clouds were now there to cover the star studded night sky.

Slowly covering up the moon.

It was pitch black now. There was no sound of a human, besides me.

Only the rustling noise , caused by the wind.

As i tried to get up, i felt the pain in my ankle. I still tried though. But failed.

Then i heard the growl again. Making me forget about my pain , and wanting me to stand up again.

I then saw.......

A tall man walking towards my direction. It wasn't clear, but my eyes were adapted enough, to see.

As it got closer to me, i started crawling back, with as much strength as i could gather.

The entity started walking closer to me fast, making me go breathless. Terrified. Scared for my life.

I was now too scared to move, as the entity was now in front of me. I couldn't see, but I knew it was staring right at me.

It crouched down and grabbed my leg ; leaning close to me.

But then , all of a sudden......

I heard a horn.

A car came by, and the headlights were too bright.

The entity, growled wildly, making me cover my face in fear.

And before i knew, it was gone.

Leaving me traumatized.

Car guy: oh ma'am! Are you OK?

I looked up to see the guy towering me.

The expression on my face , gave away my situation. Telling him that i was scared.

He held his hand out, and i looked at him, not knowing if i should hold it or not.

Car guy: *assuring smile* ma'am, you don't have to worry about me doing something to you. I just want to help you.

Well, if i stay here, i might die.

I grabbed his hand, and he pulled me up.

Car guy: oh ma'am! You are hurt.

Mirena: yeah.... I-I tripped over...

Car guy: no worries. I can take you to your home if you want me to.

Mirena: oh no worries here either. My house is just 15 minutes away.

Car guy: but ma'am, I don't think you'll be able to walk right now. Please let me help you. This place isn't safe. There are wild creatures lurking at night for food to eat.

Well, thanks for telling me that now!

I know, i should listen to him. At least, it is better getting kidnapped, rather than being eaten alive.

And I don't wanna get eaten alive.

Mirena: *smiles*  OK. Thank you.

Car guy: no problem, miss.

Then he got me to his car, and told me to rest on the passenger seat. I did.

After some time, we reached my house.

Looking outside the window, i told him to stop.

Mirena: i don't know how to repay you for this. Seriously.

Car guy: no worries, miss. It was my duty to keep a woman safe.

Mirena: yeah but, at least have some coffee or tea or somethi-

Car guy : ma'am, I'd love to , but i think my family awaits my arrival. They must be worried. Knowing this place, it is very dangerous.

I get what he meant. I just simply replied with -

Mirena: OK. *smiles* but thanks again , sir.....??

Car guy: Victor. The name is Victor.

Mirena: thank You, Victor.

Victor: no worries.

I giggled silently at his constant use of these two words. Like it's a habit.

Victor: do you want help , miss?

Mirena: i think i can walk a bit now, but thanks Victor. *Smiles*

Victor: OK. no worries , miss. *Smiles back*

I got out of the car, feeling my foot getting better a bit.

Mirena: *waving him off* have a save drive , Victor.

Victor: *smiles* sure , ma'am. Have a good night.

Mirena: *smiles back* you too.

And with that, he gave me a nod , and left.

As i entered my house, the realization hit me. Changing my smiley face, to a frowny one.

Mirena: what was it?.......
