Love is utter nonsense (elizabeth)

Contrary to popular belief just because I'm in the wedding business doesn't mean I believe in love at first sight or true love, yeah I think it's sweet when people talk about soul mates and it brings a smile to my far when I hear how they met... but I haven't found the one and I probably never will so you can go ahead and cut this invisible string connecting me two my soul mate because he's probably 6 feet under with my luck. and no I'm not a bitter 24 year old like you might think after I said that, I just have a very strong opinion about love. it had been a couple of months and Brandy and I were best friends we went out to clubs and drank together. she came running in the store the other day all excited "oh my gosh!!!" she says jumping up and down "what, what happened?" I asked laughing at her "I'm engaged!" she says showing off her big ring. "oh my gosh!!! your Engaged!" I say hugging her. this had really been a great month for her we had gotten really busy so now Brandy is another consultant, she's engaged and wedding planners always have the best weddings!!!! "oh my gosh I need to start planning!!!!" she says with a look of terror over face "you'll be fine you've planned a lot of weddings!" I say encouraging her "your right ill do fine... I can't believe I'm getting married!" she says getting excited again. "oh my gosh, will you be one if my bridesmaids" she says and I say yes hugging her again when there is a knock on the door and she runs towards the man "oh my gosh, logan! I'm engaged!" she says throwing her arms around him "oh congratulations Brandy" he says "oh my gosh I'm so rude! Elizabeth this is my brother that's just a year older than me, Logan" she says. she came from a big family just like me she was the 2nd youngest of 5 her little sister was the only other girl the rest were boys. me on the other hand only had one brother with the rest being girls, I always stuck out like a sore thumb with my red hair like my grandmothers, but it was fate! The rest of my sisters had blond hair while my brother had brown, the only thing that made us similar was our pale skin and blue eyes and the shape of our face. we all stuck together until we grew up we got into fights not getting along they didn't know my secrets until somebody told, and whoever that person was I would like to thank, for getting me out of that hell hole of a life. "oh hi logan nice to meet you I'm Elizabeth Danforth" I say shaking his hand, there was something in his eye a bit of trouble and mischief.... this guy was a demon a swear "nice to meet you too Elizabeth" he says with a smirk..... "wait why are you here?" brandy asks suddenly getting worried "I'm not in trouble with the Mounties, they reposted me to Alberta permanently." he says grinning "oh my gosh that's fantastic!" she says jumping up and down again "yeah it is, no mother said for both of you to come back to the house for dinner" he says leaving with a devilish grin..... if I had only seen knew what he was thinking, if I had known what I know now I would of walked right out that door and slapped him.... "we'll I are you in an hour" brandy says pulling her winter coat on and braving the Canadian winter, I stayed behind for a couple of minutes straining up, and walked out the door. an hour later I was at Brandy's mothers house who I absolutely loved to death, she was so kind and sweet, she was like a mother to me and she says I'm like her daughter. "ah, Beth's here!" Gloria, Brandy's mom says opening the door hugging me. "they don't know about the engagement yet" she whispers in my ear and I nod. we all eat and then make our ways to the family room where the news is revealed everyone is happy and excited but I can't help but notice Logan's a bit stiff "what's the matter logan cat got you tongue?" I asked and he just grins "no actually, I just don't believe in all this fluff anymore, the true love the love at first sight... blah blah blah blah... but of course you probably believe in it all" he says shaking his head and Brandy starts to laugh hysterically "Elizabeth, actually believing in.... in true love, or and other of that amazing stuff.... she's said many times that she thinks love is utter nonsense" she finishes and he just stares at me "I mean she is almost exactly like you logan, she doesn't like the lovey dovy stuff, or all the cute couple things, and her house is really a lot like yours" she continues and he just keeps looking at me. "and yet your a wedding planner" he says raising an eyebrow "yes I am, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't find a nice guy and settle down, quit the clubs and bars, just because I'm not a huge fan of love doesn't mean I'm a robot." I say matter-of-factly "well you seem to be the first person that understands what I mean..... love is utter nonsense" he says leaning back in his chair, brandy and her brothers and sister just stare at us in shock some shaking their heads others just a bit confused. "I swear I'm going to find both of you someone" brandy says eventually.... she set us up on many dates with different people all ending badly "just give up on Elizabeth, she's a cold heartless, selfish, bitch" logan says and Brandy slaps him, I just nod my head "very true, but you logan are no better, your an arrogant, heartless, egotistical, little boy" I say with a smirk and he glares at me for a moment before saying "well that maybe true but at least I didn't runaway from my family" he says, so maybe pissing him off was a bad idea, what he said though stung "I didn't runaway, they didn't want me anymore" I say sternly grabbing my coat "good bye Brandy, don't forget to be at the shop at 5:30 tomorrow" I say before walking, I hear brandy yelling at him and him yelling back as I climb into my car.
