"Congratulations," a female wearing a black uniform announced to a room full of terrified teens. Her piercing blue eyes scanned the room before she smiled, "all of you in this room have proven yourselves and are hereby official members of the Specialized Combat Regiment." She was met with silence. It was probably because she looked so intimidating. Her black hair was cut to her chin and a few streaks of hair were already turning white. Her black vest was almost unrecognizable as black because of how many patches and pins that were attached to it. She was clearly an important person. The rest of her outfit consisted of a black, long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and a thick pair of combat boots to top it all off. She let out a short laugh before she started clapping her hands together, "that deserves a round of applause."
A few people let out nervous laughs and the room slowly crescendoed as more people clapped their hands. She held up a hand and the clapping quickly subsided, "now that you know why you are here. Some introductions are in order." Her feet came together with a stomp and her right hand came up to her heart in a fist, "General Elan, reporting for duty."
A man wearing a similar uniform to hers stepped forward next to her with a stomp and mimicked her salute, "Sergeant Castel, reporting for duty."
Another female wearing the same uniform as the male stomped forward and saluted, "Sergeant Amarynthe, reporting for duty." There were a couple audible gasps and the lips of Elan quirked a little. Amarynthe and Castel were two widely known members of the regiment. The two of them were renowned for their power and strength, and the uniforms they were wearing didn't help make them seem any less intimidating. They were the epitome of an amazing and cool member of the regiment. They were the inspiration for many of the new recruits.
"Welcome to the Specialized Combat Regiment," Amarynthe declared. She was standing in a firm stance with her arms crossed in front of her and a level glare set on her face, "you have proven yourselves to be skilled with your power, talented in combat, and have made great strides in finding and identifying monsters."
"You have been assigned squads based on your final ranking at the end of the training." Elan announced.
"Your squads will be your first place to go to for help, and will quickly become your close friends," Castel explained, "don't get on their bad side," he added with a serious glint in his hazel eyes, "there may be times when they are the only people keeping you alive." The room plunged into a tense atmosphere. The new recruits knew that the field they were going into was dangerous, but when said like the way Castel had put it, it was a lot more terrifying.
"With that being said," Elan continued, and the recruits turned their fearful attention towards her, "squad assignments are posted on the wall back there." Almost unanimously, the group turned their heads to see pieces of paper stuck onto the wall. "I trust you will approach it civilly," her eyes narrowed and her voice was laced with a threat. She saluted and Amarynthe and Castel copied her. "You are dismissed." The three of them released the salute and walked off the stage as the new recruits excitedly followed each other to the back to see their squads.
