For the past few days, I did not speak with Jiro and everytime I saw him, he would be with Cho Rong. And she seemed happy about her getting closer with him. Minhyuk felt the cold air between me and Jiro and tried to ask me about it.
At the school garden, I sat on the bench, listening to music when someone tapped on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and looked to the side and saw Minhyuk beside me.
"Can I sit?" Minhyuk asked.
I nodded and put my headphone on my lap while adjusting my messy hair.
"Here. I brought you garlic bread to eat," He gave me.
"Gomayo. You shouldn't have," I gave him a sincere smile.
"You okay?"Minhyuk asked.
"...Everything's..ok...," I said.
"Min Jung-ah, if you have a problem, you can tell. Am I not your friend? Minhyuk said.
"It's a bit complicated," I said.
"I can always listen even it's complicated," Minhyuk smiled.
I opened my mouth and slowly started to talk about my problem. He listened intently and nodded a few times. After a few moments, he advised me and that one point of time, he tried to joke to make me laugh. I laughed at his jokes.
"Now you're smiling," Minhyuk smiled.
"Gomayo,Minhyuk-shii. I feel better now," I smiled.
Minhyuk looked at me with his soft eyes and made eye contact with me. I looked at him and he shifted his eyes to my lips. He slowly leaned towards me. As he leaned closer, I swallowed hard and tried to find a way to avoid it.
"Ah! I need to get to class now. Later the homeroom teacher will punish me when I'm late for class," I lied.
Minhyuk stopped and slowly looked away. He rubbed the back of his neck and said," I think we should head back before the teacher kills us."
"Right," I stood up and walked to the class, followed by Minhyuk.
=================================
One day before the camp, Jiro knocked on my door.
"Min Jung-ah, are you in?" Jiro asked.
I just stayed silent.
"Min Jung-ah, I'm sorry for what I've said back then. I really am," He apologised.
I slowly approached the door and leaned on the door.
"I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm just mad with myself that I can't spend time with you during the summer break because of my work. After our first argument that day, we did not even talk to each other or make eye contact," Jiro said.
I just listened to whatever he is saying and not utter a word.
"Min Jung-ah, I really miss you. Will you forgive me?" He asked.
"What about the days you spend with Cho Rong? Didn't she just replace me?" I spoke up.
"It's just a misunderstanding. I didn't even look for her. She always there wherever I go. I tried to shove her but she still insisted in following me," Jiro explained.
Then there was the silence again.
"Are you still angry at me? I'm really really sorry for what I did. I didn't mean -"
"I get it, Jiro. You didn't mean to say that. Jiro, I'm tired. Can we settle this matter other day? Goodnight," I switched off my lights to give a signal to him from outside that I was about to sleep.
I sighed and lied on my bed, covering myself with a blanket. I startedto reminisce what he told me. I shooked my head to not to think about it. I switched on my mp3 and listened to my music till I fall asleep.
