1. Love Interrupted

Days slowly turned to weeks,
Weeks to months, months to a year.
Your absence in my incomplete life,
Grips my heart with excruciating fear.

Time stopped ticking for me,
From the day we were torn apart.
Now that I think of it,
Was our love doomed from the start?

I still remember how carefree we were,
Smitten beyond words, so in love.
Having you in my life,
Was the best gift from heaven above.

Your touch, your smell, your loving smile,
Like an intoxicating elixir, slowly pulled me in.
Alas! to some people,
Our closeness was a disgusting sin.

The love we shared was sacrificed,
In the face of their shallow thoughts.
Don't we deserve our happiness?
Were the promises we made to each other for nought?

knowing how you pine for me as I do for you,
I hope that someday, definitely one day.
We will emerge as bright as a rainbow,
From society's murky clouds that loom grey.

Though the times we spent together
Now a distant memory altogether.
Worry not my precious other half
For when the time comes,
We will surely have the last laugh.

This is dedicated to JY 🐳 & ZZ 🐱

Just my thoughts on how they must have felt after the ban and finally got to writing this poem.
