"You will not die here"
An echoing, comforting voice filled his head.
"Open your eyes"
Cracking open his eyes, Weylyn saw nothing. Snapping them fully open, he looked around in surprise. The gargoyle, the cave, it was all gone. Even the pain in his ribs was gone.Is this the afterlife?, wondered Weylyn.
"Turn around"
The voice surrounded him, like a gentle snowfall. Turning around, Weylyn noticed a huge platform, upon which stood two beings."Approach"
A different voice, this time sounding like the chimes of a bell."Where am I?" Weylyn said, as he walking to the base of the platform.
As he got closer, he noticed that half the platform was covered in snow, the other half in sand, and area that they cross over was carpeted in flowers.
The figure on the left stepped forward, revealing its form. It was a slender catling girl, with gleaming white fur and piercing blue eyes. Little ears poked up from under moonlight silver hair.
"You are in the celestial space. We brought you here because you were in danger. We can't have you die on us now."
"What do you mean? I'm so confused...", Weylyn shook him head, feeling overwhelmed and in shock.
The figure on the right stepped forward, revealing a golden dragonling, yellow eyes blazing under delicate, scaly brows.
"We don't have much time, step onto the platform!"
Weylyn walked up the stairs and stood between the strange beings, flowers tickling his bare feet. They walked up right in front of him, not even two feet away. This close, he could feel the heat from the dragonling and the chill from the catling. The wash of their power was nearly overwhelming.
The catling grasped Weylyn's hands, holding them gently between them. "I call to the power sleeping within thee, awaken and slay all of thy enemies in a wave of ice."
For a moment, all Weylyn could see was a vast landscape of ice, the horizon hidden by heavy snowfall. Then, his vision cleared and the catling was stepping back. Weylyn looked at his hands and saw a blue glow quickly fade from them.
Then the dragonling stepped up. Gazing deep into his eyes, she reached up and cupped his face, bringing their foreheads together. "With this touch, I awaken thee. Come forth and bring peace and health to those who encounter thee."
Another vision flashed through his head. A rolling desert as far as the eye can see, the sand sifting between his pads and the sun shining warmth into him. As his vision returned to normal, everything seemed just a little brighter and vibrant, the life force of the flowers pulsing under him slowly. Then, the feeling faded.
"It is time. We have done all that we could. You must return and defeat your foe. We will meet again" The catling turned and walked away, slowly fading away. The dragonling turned to follow, then looked back. "Beware, there is a darkness spreading. Be careful who you trust, and avoid those with tainted thoughts who seek to lead you astray"
Then she too faded away and darkness swallowed his sight.
