Hacket

The Pelican rocked back and fourth as it's six occupants waited for the landing. Those six were all the members of Fireteam Disciple: Seth Flux the second in command, Jonathan Gram the CQB expert that was currently sharpening his favorite knife, their favorite sniper Julie Luckser, Wendy Newmen the reconnaissance specialist, heavy weapons handler Henry Veta, and the team leader James Hacket. It had only been a year after the team had volunteered for the ORION Project: an ONI Section 3 driven project initially before it was shut down and then secretly relaunched by the Colonial Military Administration In 2491 after Dr. Elias Carver presents his Carver Findings HIGHCOM. The goal was to make chemically enhanced soldiers to deploy against growing rebel cells in the unofficial Civil War, essentially they were super soldiers.

"Two minutes till land fall people!" The pilot said over the intercom prompting the team to grab what gear they believed to be necessary and Gram to sheath his knife. James was holding onto a cross he had around his neck and reading a bible, something he's kept on him since he was fifteen. Julie looked over to her commander, seeing him give a silent prayer before exhaling softly and opening his eyes again.

"Hey Sarge!" She called out to him gaining his attention while she held her Rifle with the butt on the floor and the barrel against her shoulder, safety of course was on as always until they reached the ground. "Ever look back and think if this is where you'd end up?" She asks Hacket.

"No Luckser, I didn't. Hell I didn't even originally plan on joining up with the military; but things change. What about you? Did ya see yourself here?" He answered. She smirked and shrugged before nodding to Seth.

"Seth and I joined together, we've known each other a while; and when we saw the Innies start causing trouble, attacking our planets and killing innocent people, we new something had to be done and enlisted. Fighting Innies? That I saw. Being part of ORION? That was a curve ball from left field right to the aide of the head." She said while looking over a magazine. After examining it to see if the rounds where alright and if it was full she stuck it on her belt and stood as the Pelican came to a halt upon land and the light in their area turned green.

The ramp lowered as James pumped his shotgun with one arm before grabbing the grip with the other. "Alright Disciple, we know what we gotta do. Go in, eliminate the hostiles, and get the civvies out. Luckser your on overwatch, Newmen and Flux you go around the main perimeter of the occupied village and quietly take out the patrols, Veta and Gram on me we're going through the front gate." James said as they began walking out of the troop transport and into the swamps of Keter-XII.

"So what we just gonna go up to the Innies front door and knock? Should we have brought some of mamas gumbo?" Henry asks sarcastically while hefting an M41 SPNKR on his shoulder with one arm while the other has an assault rifle pointed at the ground with his finger on the trigger for that moments notice move. Ok his person was a backpack containing heavy ordnance: explosives, grenades, and extra ammo just in case.

"Or we could just blow open the damn door and kill 'em off fast. I'd prefer to not stay here. Agh! Damn mosquitos!" Jonathan says slapping the bug he called a misquote.

James shakes his head as they continue, the conversation with Julie before they departed coming to his immediate thoughts. He hasn't thought of being a super soldier just as he said. But if it wasn't for the Marine Corps he would have died a junkie and no-good criminal. The Corps saved his life and he was damn willing to pay it back one-hundred and thirty percent. But those few years ago, when he was with that gang. When he was a drug addict. That's what he mainly wanted to make up for.
