This story is not edited until the very end, bare with spell check and grammatical errors . Thank you

There was the old me I promised to never be when I made it to highschool, and the old me vowed to never act in such a childish way.

There I was 12 years old, sitting on the playground next to no one as usual. I watched all the cool kids play dodgeball and that's when the worst decision of my life came about. I got up, pushed my glasses off the tip of my nose and walked over to them. The ball was in Susie Windburn's hand. She popped her gum and placed the other hand on her hip. May I remind you that we're only in the 8th grade, but she made it seem like she was already in 9th.

"What do you want weirdo?" She mocked.

I froze. A sudden terrible urge to cry overwhelmed my body but I didn't.

"Hello, are you going to answer me?"

I hesitated for another moment. "I wanna play dodgeball with you guys."

She starred at me funny for a minute until dying of laughter for another moment. She was so loud that she drew a crowd towards her, as always.

"Listen up everyone! Whats-her-face over here wants to play dodgeball with us!" The crowd started to laugh. I looked around to see the laughing faces of my class mates, except RJ. He stuck his hands in his pocket and shook his head.

I attempted to walk away until a dodgeball hit the back of my head. I don't know what came over me, but a sudden urge to punch Susie Windburn was needed. I turned back around.

"You know what? I'm sick and tired of you, your clique and your presence." I poked at her shoulder.

"Okay...what are you going to do about it?"

And that explains the first day I got into a fight. Let's just say, I was suspended and Susie had a broken nose.

I'm in 11th grade now and different would definitely describe my attitude. Instead of nerdy glasses I wore contacts. My style was more up to date and I overall became a deep dark and depressing person to be around. I had the kids scared of me for years and to be honest, I finally felt wanted even though I technically wasn't.

It was the first day back. I saw the familiar faces walk the other way. I applied my red lipstick and chuckled closing my locker. When I arrived to first period , I sat miserably in the front, given that my name was

Addison, Laura

I continued to listen to my teacher go on and on with the list.

"Zoey Ferguson, Ronald Johnson, Casey Lowes-...."

And of those names, Ronald Johnson stuck out to me. I reminisced on my junior high days.

"Ronald Johnson......." I whispered.

When I started back at him my eyes widened. It was him. RJ is back in town. RJ and I were never really close but I appreciate him for that 8th grade year. We were friends but not technically friends. I remembered he dropped off my homework and even came over to help me study 1 day.

"Okay class. Welcome to Environmental Science." Mr.Waykins introduced.

I reclined in the chair while folding my hands. "This should be an interesting year."

"Hope you enjoyed your summer. Enough play time! Time for work......here is your syllabus."

"Here you go, Jessica and Glenn....and Laura........."

"Yes Mr. W...."

"Your brother happens to be...."

"Yes I am related to Lionel Addison."
