When I looked those dark brown eyes, the intensity of his gaze was overwhelming. I felt as if I was being laid naked in front of him, so I blushed and looked away and I guess he was thinking the same because of that super-cute blush. What I also saw was how shattered his eyes were. He was just 14. His eyes said otherwise. The hurt in them was unimaginable.
I concentrated on my breakfast (and other maybe not so breakfast-related thoughts) and tuned my numerous siblings out. I want to get to know Nico but I don't know how. What I do know is that Chiron is on my side. I know it. We have training with the Hades Cabin (as in Nico). This is just perfect.
We made our way to the arena. Chiron had it built for our SPRs (Summerly Progress Reports). We were given something different every summer, and I had no clue what it was this time.
I was hoping, just praying that I'd get Nico as my partner.
