I woke up. I was feeling good. But sad.
Then I saw Nico. That kid is sad. There's no saying nice, he's been through a lot.
He knows I'm gay, thinks I like him but doesn't like me. But then why is he here with me?
I was lost in my thoughts. Nico was awake and getting out.
"Wait!"
He answered me without stopping. "No"
"C'mon" I said.
Nico whipped around.
"Why are you doing this, Will? What's your point? Everyone who's ever done any thing for me is dead. Gone. Jason. Bianca." He was crying now.
"Don't put yourself in danger for me."
"No," I said quietly. "What about the rest of the seven? Reyna? Hazel? They still love you."
He turned around and wiped his tears. "You're right. But please. Just stay away from me."
I lost it. "Fine!" I said and left.
I pretended not to see a tear running down his cheek.
