Recap:
I smiled and couldn't help but giggle ever so slightly. "That was a lot of fun" I heard him murmur and I nodded in  agreement. He pulled away slightly and led me back to the dais where we sat down in our original seats. The night would come to an end soon, and I'd have to say farewell.

~~~
Rieka POV.
The night had come to a close. People both werewolf and vampires left in either pairs or small groups. Some wolves would leave today to be with their mates and join their new packs, while some vampires would join new covens. I stayed until most were gone and it was just my family, my mate and the staff who would be packing up the pavilion. I turned to Dimitri with a small smile. "Do you have to go?"
He gave me a curt nod. "I'm afraid so, little mate."
I gave a small pout and stepped closer to him, wrapping my arms around his middle. I tilted my head back, resting my neck and chin against his chest so I could look up at him. He wrapped his arms around me and smiled down at me.
"Don't look so forlorn Rieka, I'll be back to pick you up on Tuesday."
I hummed in response. "But I don't want you to leave"
"I know, and I don't want to either, but I have no choice" he said just before he leaned down slightly to kiss my head. "I'll see you soon, I suggest you pack what you wish to bring with you tomorrow and spend the next 3 days saying farewell to family and friends. I'll see you soon."
I nodded and hugged him tightly, moving my head to rest my cheek against his shirt and inhaled his scent which had my body just relaxing. He hugged me a little tighter before pulling away and turning to leave.
"See you soon." The words echoed a they passed my lips, and I felt my chest begin to ache, I knew I would see him again, bu it didn't want him to leave. My mother and my father came to stand behind me. Dad placing a hand on my shoulder and my mum hugging me from the side.
"Come on sweetie. Let's go home and celebrate your birthday" I nodded softly and we too left into the crisp cool night air and headed home.
~~~
The door shut behind us and still in our fancy clothing. I kicked off my heels by the door and padded forward to sit on the stiff blue chair, with soft bouncy cushions. I carelessly pulled my skirt up to cross my ankle over my knee to rub my sore feet.

Mum gave me a disapproving look, as if to reprimand me but said nothing. I simply gave a sigh and stood up, walking to the stairs and heading up to my room.

I welcomed the smell of lavender as I entered my personal space of my room, quickly stripping out of my hall gown and folding it up to put it in the wash. I slipped into my lazy clothes that consisted of an oversized pale blue hoodie, with fraying stitching and loose elastic, that had wrinkles and faded spots where it had been in the sun for too long, paired with a set of grey cotton shorts that were fairly loose at the leg and had a tie up at the waist band. They cut off about 2 cm below my butt, and were faded from many washes.

Padding across the pale off white carpet I headed to my bathroom and wiped off the makeup with some baby wipes, then proceeded to let my hair down and remove the flowers before throwing my hair into a messy bun atop my head. Finally happy with my lazy and effortless appearance I headed back down stairs to my parents who had placed a small group of presents on the bend next to a chocolate cake with lit candles.

I felt myself smile as I walked closer and hugged them both. "I thought you'd dismissed my birthday for the ball tonight instead" I murmured softly.

My father kissed my temple as both my parents hugged me tightly. "Of course not sweetie. How could we forget your birthday!?" Mum questioned as if I was crazy.

This made me laugh and shrug. I blew out the candles and watched the smoke curl into the air. My Heart felt lighter than it had all night. It felt good.

My parents encourage me to tear through the wrapping paper on my presents to reveal a few small gifts that held great meanings to me because they been from my family, from the people I loved.

Another chapter for you wonderful people.
