He knew this day would come.

He knew they would find them sooner or later.

And Vasily Karpov couldn't be prouder.

Not because they have been trying to find them for years. Not because he craved the formula to create powerful soldiers. But because they were alone in a secluded place, their daughter with them, on the road heading North to who knows where. It was a perfect time to strike the family of three.

Not only will getting the formula for the serum be a huge success in his career, but the feeling of seeing the creators of the formula lives slip from their eyes. A refreshing feeling, especially after 13 years of searching.

He just can't stop itching to get his hands on their daughter, though. A daughter that they should have never had in the first place. So fragile and young. Easy to mold within his fingertips. The parents knew the dangers, yet were stupid enough to allow it to happen. He scoffs lightly at the idea.

An infuriating feeling soon seeps into his body. How could two of the smartest people in HYDRA possibly leave with the most important thing he can ever have? Scientists, yet acted cowardly. Thinking that they can redeem themselves by leaving and trying to improve and replicate the way they did it in the '40s. Pathetic.

He thinks about how childish they were. The two left with the formula all because of love. Something that should never be allowed in a place like this. It covers what is truly important: order.

As his brown eyes dart to the ear-splitting screams of the occupied chair, he opens up the red book, ready to say the first word.

"Желание (longing)."
