Y/n's POV I stood at my locker, grabbing anything I needed for my next few classes. "Hey." Zach said as he leaned against his locker to my right. "Hi Zach." I said, closing my locker and turning towards him. "So about tonight, I'll pick you up at 7." "Sounds good. Are you gonna tell me what we are doing?" I asked. "Nope. Oh yeah and wear whatever you want, I'm sure you look good in everything." He said with a smirk. I shook my head and laughed, "player much?" He laughed, "I'll see you later." "Zach we have class together." I said as he started to walk down the hallway. "Who said I was going to class? Oh and y/n, pack a bathing suit for tonight." He yelled down the hallway. I laughed, "You're crazy, Herron." He smiled at me before turning to a group of friends. I turned around, there stood Gabbie, Tate, and Christina all smirking at me. They obviously heard my whole conversation with Zach. "What was that about?" Christina asked. "Oh nothing." I said. "Mhm sureee, so what's at 7?" Tate asked. "My date with Zach." I whispered. The three girls squealed with excitement. "And Gabbie, I know you said to be careful around Zach but-" I started to say. "Y/n it's fine, I'm happy for you. I just don't want to see you get hurt but Zach obviously really likes you." She said. "Thanks Gabs." I said. She smiled at me before the four of us made our way to our next class.

I sat down next to Gabbie at our lunch table, the girls were already all sitting down we were just waiting for the boys to show up. Gabbie and I were talking about our math homework when we heard someone clear their throat behind us. "Jorden." I heard Christina whisper, hate evident in her voice. "Ladies." Jorden said. "Hi Jorden." Christina, Tate, and Gabbie said, annoyed. "You must be y/n." She said to me. "Hi." I said, nodding. "I heard you and Zach have a little thing." She said. "Yes?" I said, unsure as to why she's even here. "Well just thought you should know that Zach is mine. And you shouldn't even bother with him. Besides I know Zach, he wouldn't go out with someone like you." She spat. "If he wouldn't go out with someone "like me" then why do we have a date tonight? Because as you said, you know Zach so well and he's "yours" I don't see him asking you out." I said. She looked at me shocked, she probably didn't expect me to fight back. She huffed, "whatever." Then she walked away and over to her table. I turned back around and the girls were looking at me, shocked expressions on their faces. The boys had sat down now, except for Zach who was no where to be found. "Damnnn." The boys all said. "I did not expect that from you y/n." Tate said. "This is why I love you y/n." Christina said. "What? Someone needed to put her in her place." I said. Everyone laughed. We ate lunch before going to our last class of the day, then we all met up at our lockers. "Wanna hangout before your date??" Gabbie asked. "Sure, you can help me pick out an outfit." I said. "Yes! Christina and Tate too?" She asked. "Obviously." I said. "Ok I'll tell them." Gabbie said before turning to Christina and Tate and telling them to come over to my house. The girls and I started making our way out of school and to our cars. Gabbie went with me in my car while Christina and Tate went to their own cars. Once we got to my house we hung out for a while before starting to pick out what I should wear on my date with Zach. After an hour I was finally ready, I had my bathing suit on underneath my clothes. The girls and I were talking when we were interrupted by a knock on the door. They all looked at me and smiled. "He's hereeee." They all said. "Shut up." I said laughing before running to the door. I opened to see Zach standing there. "Hey," Zach said. "Hey," I smiled up at him. "Ready?" He asked. "Yep!" I said to him before turning and looking at the girls who were standing behind me watching us. "Bye girls! Are you guys staying here?" I asked. "Nah we'll go home." Tate said. "Text us when you guys are done!" Christina said. "Have fun!" Gabbie yelled as I closed the door. Zach and I walked to his car and jumped in. He drove us to the park where we walked to get ice cream. We walked to the beach with our ice cream in hand just talking about random things. We sat down close to shore continuing our conversation. Once we finished Zach turned to me. "Wanna go for a swim?" He asked. I looked at him and then the ocean in front of us. "Sure, why not?" I stated. We both stood up. I took my shirt and shorts off revealing a black bikini. Zach took off his pants and shirt, then looked at me. "Damn." He breathed out. "Really?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. He smirked at me before picking me up and running towards the ocean. I screamed as he dunked the both of us underwater. "That was so unnecessary." I said after we both came up from under the water. He laughed, "you're cute when your mad." I pushed his shoulder before splashing a little bit of water at him. He looked at me shocked before retaliating by splashing water at me. We went into a full on splash war. Zach stopped splashing me and grabbed my waist, pulling me closer to him causing me to stop splashing him. "I really like you y/n." He said quietly. "A little bold of you to say on the first date, Herron." I joked. He gave me a disappointed look. "I'm just joking. I really like you too Zach." I said smiling at him causing him to mirror my expression. He began to lean in so I did the same. Our lips touched and I felt butterflies in my stomach. I put my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. He pulled me closer to him, leaving his hands to rest on the small of my back. Our lips moved in sync before we both pulled away to catch our breath. Zach looked at me, a dumb grin on his face. He grabbed my hand before leading us out of the ocean and to our clothes that laid in the sand. We both put our clothes back on, I shivered as a cool breeze went by us. "Cold?" Zach asked. I nodded at him. He grabbed his sweatshirt and put it on me. "Thanks." I said. Zach and I began to walk back to his car, hand in hand. He drove me home and walked me to the door. "I had fun tonight, Herron." I said. "Me too. Does this mean I can ask you out for a second date?" He asked. "I think so." I said. "Well then, I'll text you." He said. I smiled at Zach before kissing his cheek and turning to walk inside. "Wait, Zach." He turned around and looked at me, "yeah?" "Do you want your sweatshirt back?" I asked. "Keep it." He said with a smirk before getting in his car. I closed my door and went upstairs to my bedroom. I flopped down on the bed and stared up at the ceiling with a stupid grin on my face. ______________ INSTAGRAM
