NOELIA
~ a week later ~
I woke up later than usual I do. I haven't heard back from Jack nor have I decided to text him first. Why? Because if he really wanted to talk, he would've reached out to me by now, after all, he did leave me hanging.
"NOELIA!" I heard Kels shout from the backyard.
I finally got out of bed and made my way over to her. She was sitting on the grass reading a Vogue magazine.
"What?" I asked while stretching a little.
She didn't even bother to look up from the magazine.
"Want to go out? It's been a while and I think we both deserve it, mainly you, you know. After everything has happened,"
I looked at her for a moment as she finally looked up from the magazine.
"Yeah, I like the sound of that, I'll go get ready.. where are we going?"
"To a party, Sammy is hosting one tonight, if you aren't in the mood, we can go on a boat ride." She focused her attention back on the magazine.
"A party is fine, I'll be back." I stated as I walked off into the bathroom.
~ after they got ready and skipping to the party
I turned to look at Kels, grabbing her hand tightly. I like parties but sometimes they can be overwhelming.
"Sammy!" Kels and I shouted over the music as we walked into the huge house and immediately spotted Sammy.
"Babyyy, hey, what's up. How have y'all been? Let's go make y'all some drinks." He hugged us each and led us to the kitchen to get some drinks.
Sammy poured us some tequila shots then made us some piña coladas.
Kels and I downed the shot then suddenly, Kels disappeared.
I looked at Sammy and shook my head.
"She left me once again," I let out a little laugh, while I leaned on the counter.
"Eh, you have me and if anything, there's more people that you know here, I swear, just look around, explore or dance." He suggested with a smile as he handed me my drink.
"Hmm, you're right, I will go explore and dance." I smiled while I took the drink and moved over to the living room where everyone was dancing.
I started to dance with friends and some new people I met. As I was dancing, I found Kels and my other friend, Adrian. I put my arms over them as I held two alcohol bottles.
"Smile!" I heard someone say, we all posted and laughed afterwards.
I pulled out my phone and someone airdropped it to me. I had no idea who it was, but oh well.
I shrugged it off and went back to dancing with my friends and decided to still have a good time.
That's when I felt someone bump into me.
"Oh, my bad."
It was a deep voice, it sounded familiar but I couldn't really tell who it was because of all the alcohol I consumed and the room was dim so I couldn't make out a face.
"It's okay." I responded as I went back to dancing.
"Wait, Noelia?"
How does he know my name?
I felt an arm grab me, not too tight, but tight enough to drag me away from the crowd and outside.
"Noelia."
I finally looked up to see who it was,
Jack.
It was Jack, I felt as if my heart was beating so quickly. I haven't talked to him in so long and I've never met him in person before.
"I'm sorry if I scared you, I was just so shocked to see you here and I wanted to see if it was really you." He stated.
"Wow, this is kind of crazy," that's all I could say, no other words would come out and my mind was blank.
He playfully rolled his eyes at me and smiled
"Come here." He pulled me into a somewhat long and tight hug.
I stood there still in shock trying to process all of this. He ghosted me for a month, then I suddenly run into him and he acts as if nothing happened.
I finally pulled away from the hug and looked up at him.
"Well?" I asked.
"Well what?" He has this confused look on his face.
"Are you not going to explain anything?"
"Oh, right. Can we sit first?" He looked around to find some seating outside.
"I guess."
He led me to a bench that were nearby and we both sat down.
"Now.. where do I start?" He asked himself, almost in a whispering tone.
